Another depth starter/long man for my [[Charlotte Chargers 2008]] team, Andrews is similar to [[Custom Players:Nate Andrews|last year's]], with less stamina and a bit more control.  My goal with Andrews was to make a serviceable mop-up man, who could potentially start if called upon - giving me and 8th starter option.  Eventually he was shaping up to be too good, however, so I sped through without save/loading for huge stretches.  He came out just about perfect - low velocity, okay curves, good breaking pitch, very few special abilites.

Andrews mainly relies on fooling batters with his vertical slider or one of his two curveballs - slurve and knuckler.  He does not have any significant batting ability, so between his (relatively) low velocity, barebly B stamina, and lack of other skills, he is most likely destined for a bullpen spot as long man or mop-up.  King, Trzesniak, and Baker all impress more than Andrews by stats alone; but his results will determine his future role, or if he ends up in AAA.

A minor-league free agent, Andrews was picked up by the Chargers as an additional starter to throw into the mix. Andrews originally hails from Alberta; he has a devastating V-slider, a knuckle-curve, and a weak slurve to round out his repertoire. He barely has starter stamina, and not much velocity, so relies on spotting his offspeed pitches with decent control.

Description

Another depth starter/long man for my Charlotte Chargers 2008 team, Andrews is similar to last year's, with less stamina and a bit more control. My goal with Andrews was to make a serviceable mop-up man, who could potentially start if called upon - giving me an 7th/8th starter option.

King, Trzesniak, and Baker all impress more than Andrews by velocity alone; but his results will determine his future role, or if he ends up in AAA.
