Description
A depth starter/long man for my Charlotte Chargers 2008 team, Baker is similar to last year's, albeit without the fielding part. Baker's original role was as a not-so-great swing starter who could potential move into the rotation due to injury - a Julian Tavares, but with decent control and durability.
This version ended up pretty well, with Good Sense thanks to Frank's Broast Ball dinner, so I had plenty of time to boost my hitting abilities, specifically power. So Baker doesn't have much contact, and no ability to field, but he has enough power to knock an occasional double. His quick recovery and good control/stamina, combined with hitting prowess of power and a good bunt, make him a mean contender for 4th or 5th starter, especially if Gregorio and King are hit hard. However, Baker has consistency problems, and may be better as a spot starter when he is on.
