Reset is a maxed player able to play three positions, C/SS/CF, with almost all the possible obtainable abilities, except star, intimidator, and good morale (spider catch cannot be obtained by a catcher). He was created by SmilingFaces96 using a save/load style of play. Please note that the final statistics are below the creation info. The following is an excerpt from the forum post:

Creation Information

I created “Reset” with the intent of creating a C/SS/CF (3 color banner) and maxing out all of his basic abilities and getting all of the special abilities that I could; therefore, “Resetting” the MLB record books! The method that I was going to use was to save and load of course, but with the caveat that I would do a bunch of private eye jobs, get the gambler’s ring and buy about 10 bat waxes at the end to max out power. I wanted Intimidator, but I have yet to see any hitter posts have it, only pitchers, so I wasn’t going to waste time dating any of the ladies. I would just do without as well as Star, which nobody has figured out yet. I didn't want the neutral ability Pull Hitter, either, and I wasn't going to S/L to get Gd Morale or any other abilities on the Other tab. While originally loading for a good character to start with, I ended up with a Poor Sense good starting stats player with the following abilities:

Trajectory: 2
Contact: 5 (F)
Power: 79 (F)
Run Speed: 5 (F)
Arm Strength: 5 (F)
Fielding: 5 (F)
Error Resistance: 5 (F)

I thought, hey I can overcome Poor Sense with these starting stats, so I started to play. During the process of elevating energy and reloading for 2 week jobs (so I didn’t have to waste any weeks re-looking for the dog), I ran across getting Aggressive STL. Unfortunately, I do not remember how I got it (it was like four in the morning, and I have slept since then). I earned money pretty quickly through finding the thief on the third week, which I also got an increase in Throwing and Cannon Arm. I also ran into Jaw before my first playable game, so I was set to do some S/L damage. I went ahead and went to the shop and bought the goggles (makes life easier for me) and a bunch of carryover chocolate. This would last through the remainder of the year. So basically I saved and loaded for Secretes of Hitting and Defense from the surprise bags to gain special abilities, and played the games and gambled for basic abilities, while training on week 4. At the end of the year, all my stats were 13 and 14 except for power which was still 158. I had tons of abilities as well. I would be concentrating the second year on raising power. Also, I finally was able to shake Poor Sense by having a (random event) broast ball dinner with Frank and Marvin.

So, I played through the second year learning quite a bit about a couple of important things about Isabella (the restaurant owner) and Secrets of Defense (which I will explain in a minute). At the start of the second year, I decided to raise running speed, so I went and saw Emily Young for the 1st time (after Marvin noticed her of course) and chose to go home. I also finished up Franks arc and got Good Sense. During the remainder of the year I was racking up the money and I would end up with more than $9600 dollars at the end. So, I had things set up to buy plenty of bat waxes, but low and behold, who did I run into, but our good buddy Dr. Goodjob. So I said I would go with him and choose to be stronger, but there was no reason to sign the contract since everything was maxed out except for fielding, error resistance and power. So, I didn’t sign and fortunately the job was successful. I got a boost in power by 30 and an increase in error resistance by 1. Wow, I didn’t expect that big of a power boost. My power was now at 252. What was I going to do with all that money? Of course, I will make the most awesome power bat ever! So, I beat Sittch at the end with a walk-off homer at the end of the game. Awesome, there is nothing like the feeling of victory after an exhilarating come back.

Well, I had never really been in this predicament before, all my stats are maxed out and nothing to gamble. Hey, I remember, I was going to make the most awesome power bat ever. So, I used my discount coupon I was saving and I went and bought 12 bat waxes at $540 a pop. I used them all, had money left over, went back and bought 5 bat waxes at $600 a pop. Now, what was the Fire Arch going to look like? Wow, +55 in power. What a bat?! I was going to take a picture, but there wasn’t any way in the world I was going to wake my sick wife up at five in the morning by looking for the camera. So, I saved my player and now I am posting him here.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I was supposed to mention what I learned about Secrets of Defense. If your primary position is a Catcher, you can use it to get Trash Talk, which everybody already knows. But did you know that you can’t get Spider Catch or Pivot Man if your primary position is catcher, similarly if you are a fielder, you can’t get Trash Talk.

Onto to Isabella, you know how when you go to Isabella, you always get an increase to your Power. Sometimes it is +1 or +2 or +3 or +4. Well, I figured out what determines the level. You know how she asks you to try some of here new special steaks: habaniero pepper steak, mega steak, or tropical steak. Well, after each one you eat, it increases the power that you will get form Isabella. So, after one, you will get increases of +2, after two, +3, and after three, +4.
