Types of Fate Cards
There are four different types of cards: Yes, No, Challenge, and Marvin.
Yes
"Show positive determination."
Some responses with Yes cards include:
- Give your approval
- Agreeing with the task/challenge being presented to you
- Accepting responsibility
No
"Show negativity."
Some responses with No cards include:
- Declining offers
- Avoiding work/practice
Challenge
"Try something out, compete against someone, or confess something."
Some responses with Challenge cards include:
- Aggressive "Yes" response
- Putting your position on the line
- Putting your scout evaluation on the line
- Making aggressive moves to your girl
Marvin
"Pull your teammate Marvin into the event at that point, and have him take your place."
Some responses with Challenge cards include:
- Forcing Marvin to take the hit (may backfire)
- Making Marvin make the decision
- Adding Marvin as a companion this event
Worldliness and Clumsiness
The standard "hand" is 4 cards, and most characters start with 4 when the game begins. However, having the attribute clumsiness will reduce your hand to 3 cards, making decisions more difficult. Worldly, on the other hand, will give the use a full 5 card hand. Lone Wolf will bring your card total to 1, making it very difficult to make your own path based on fate. These attributes are countered with altered stats or injuries to compensate for the attribute.
It is possible to gain worldliness through random events, as well as clumsiness. We do know that gaining worldly will remove and override clumsiness (but most gamers will typically re-roll a new character without the handicap).
