Video Games 2008
From MLB Power Pros Wiki
Video Games is a hobby that you can do in your free time if you own a Video Game Console. The Video Game Console costs $700 and is required to play any of the video games. By equipping both the console and the game CD in your four-slot inventory you can choose this hobby during road games as well.
Video Game | Cost | Fielder Benefits | Pitcher Benefits |
---|---|---|---|
Action | $100 | Gives Contact experience | Gives Control experience |
Adventure | $200 | Gives Tough Out experience | no effect |
Sports | $300 | Gives Tough Out experience | no effect |
Puzzle | $400 | Gives Hot Hitter experience | Gives Sandbag experience |
RPG | $500 | Gives Rally Hitter experience |
When playing video games there are three possible outcomes, "I couldn't advance at all," "I beat the game and saw the ending," or a "successfully played" message that varies depending on the game played. In the last two outcomes you get the corresponding stat boost for that game and when beating the game it is discarded. Although exact skill level requirements are not known, when starting out you will only be able to successfully play the action game. Upon completing the action game you will be able to play adventure or sports, and upon completing those you will be able to play the puzzle and RPG games.
Video games are not a particularly useful hobby as the amount of experience gained is extremely low and Tough Out/Hot Hitter are relatively easy abilities to gain through normal play. There may be some merit in playing the RPG game to gain the Rally Hitter ability. They are even more useless for pitchers, particularly the Puzzle game, as it gives you experience in Sandbag, a red ability.
