Description
A pitcher enters a rattled state when they are knocked around in a game. In less severe cases (Stages 1 and 2), pitchers can settle down by getting consecutive outs. The pitcher may carry a rattled state into the next inning.
Stages
- Stage 1 - The pitcher flinches slightly before setting up, but shakes it off.
- Stage 2 - The pitcher has yellow stars spinning around his head while staggering on the mound.
- Stage 3 - The pitcher has blue stars spinning around his head. There is less rocking back and forth compared to Stage 2 as the pitcher stands with his head tilted back, gazing into thin air.
Effects
- Pitcher is visually upset.
- Diminished speed and break on pitches.
- Increased likelihood of misthrowing a pitch.
- Stamina drain increased drastically.
- Pitcher does not respond to pitching commands right away (Stage 3)
Related Abilities
- Poker faced pitchers are still prone to the effects of being rattled, but they will not show it visually.
- Poise ability affects the pitcher's susceptibility to being rattled.
- Hothead pitchers are immune to being rattled and will instead blow off steam.
