Description
A potential reserve/AAA reliever for my Charlotte Chargers 2008 team, Van Hekken is a new player. I wanted a low-level closer/reliever that I could call up if one of my relievers had an injury. However, I soon had the Lucy dating arc within my grasp, and took the opportunity to get Intimidator and Dr. K via that arc. I did want to keep his levels low, so speed is at 93mph, pitches are only minor movement ones, and his abilities are C-D range. Like Reichert, his consistency went down to 2 during some random event, which was fine to keep him believable.
Van Hekken could potentially earn a spot in the bullpen, over Stone or Ishida - his medium stamina, from starting games in the Netherlands, is a benefit. His mound presence, and that ability to intimidate batters with his large size, may make him a worthwhile pitcher on the roster.
