A prospect with significant speed and a high power cieling, Mercado projects to perhaps help the team in 2-3 years as a starting outfielder.
Description
This is a Success Mode AAA outfielder for my custom team, the Charlotte Chargers. He is based on last year's character, Joakim Bumatay, but also merged with a speed threat from my expansion team, the Wings. I tried to have a character with very few special abilities, and relatively low ratings - but high speed. But I had so many points left, I could increase his power to C - negating the need for some other power-hitting prospects I was going to develop. So Mercado is my main OF prospect for the Chargers.
Mercado has amazing raw speed, which alone is enough to get him a chance at the bench OF spot. His power is also appreciable; however, his other skills - contact, fielding, and patience at the plate - still need significant development. Time will tell if the Chargers can bring out his potential, or if he will remain a two-tool player.
