There are 9 fielding positions in baseball as well as the Pitcher (P). Three outfield (OF) positions: Left Field (LF), Center Field (CF), and Right Field (RF). Four infield (IF) positions: First Base (1B), Second Base (2B), Third Base (3B), and Shortstop (SS). There is also a Catcher (C) who catches throws from the pitcher.

In Success Mode, the position at which the Main Character starts the game will affect how he interacts with other characters.

In 2007:

  • A center fielder will have to compete with Marvin for the position.
  • A left fielder will have to compete with Milton for the position.
  • A second baseman will have to compete with Peter for the position.
  • A catcher can learn to catch Alvin's knuckleball.
