Marvin can either be a big part in the success mode story, or a very small portion, depending on the fate cards used during play. The Marvin card would be used to bring Marvin into the situation.

His counterpart in the Japanese Power Pros series is Akio Yabé. Marvin's very first appearance in the franchise dates back to Jikkyou Powerful ProYakyu 10, where the player will meet Marvin as Yabé's doppelganger when he travels to the USA. His name in the Japanese series is Yarben Diyans, which rough translates to "Chief, I'm Yabé", a play on Yabé's idiosyncratic phrase.
