Rank is the method by which MLB Power Pros make the numeric ability system easier to quickly interpret. The letter grade rank is attributed to the underlying number ranking used by the computer. You can switch back and forth between letter and number ranks in success mode by pressing the - key (Wii).
The tables marks off the minimum numeric point level required for each rank. Each upgrade adds 1 point to the ability.
Ability | MAX | |||||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Power | 255 | 180 | 140 | 120 | 100 | 85 | 25 | 1 |
Contact | 15 | 14 | 12 | 10 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 1 |
Run Speed | 15 | 14 | 12 | 10 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 1 |
Arm Strength | 15 | 14 | 12 | 10 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 1 |
Fielding | 15 | 14 | 12 | 10 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 1 |
Error Resistance | 15 | 14 | 12 | 10 | 8 | 6 | 4 | 1 |
Control | 255 | 180 | 155 | 135 | 120 | 110 | 100 | 1 |
Stamina | 255 | 150 | 110 | 80 | 60 | 30 | 15 | 1 |
Note: There is a tremendous difference for Power 200 vs Power 180. If you are going for a true home run hitter, don't stop at 180. For example, Ryan Howard is over 240.
Trajectory is a simple 1-4 scale
Level | Trajectory | Description |
---|---|---|
1 | Line Drive, pitchers and most hitters start here | |
2 | Slight Rise, some hitters start here. | |
3 | Significant Rise, the goal of most hitters with C/B power. | |
4 | Powerful Rise, only for A+ power hitters. |
Pitchers have a separate ranking system for their pitches. All but the UP position use a 7 rank system, the UP position only has 3. The higher the rank, the more break the pitch has. Pitch upgrades improve the pitch by 1 rank.
