There are 9 fielding positions in baseball as well as the Pitcher (P).  Three outfield (OF) positions:  Left Field (LF), Center Field (CF), and Right Field (RF). A player may have as many as three positions.

In Season Mode, the Pitcher can be put in any of the following roles: Starter, Swing Man, Long Reliever, Middle Reliever, Situational Lefty, Mop-Up Man, Set-Up Man, or Closer.

In Success Mode, the position at which the Main Character starts the game will affect how he interacts with other characters.

In 2007:

  • A center fielder will have to compete with Marvin for the position.
  • A left fielder will have to compete with Milton for the position.
  • A second baseman will have to compete with Peter for the position.
  • A catcher can learn to catch Alvin's knuckleball.
