In this version, you could play Success Mode on 5 different teams, each one offering their own benefits. This is actually the norm in the Power Pro Series, but my guess is Konami decided to strip things down trying to introduce this game to an international audience.

Contents

Origin

The name is a tribute to the "final boss" team (think Champion Rings) from MLB PP's predecessor Jikkyô Powerful Major League, released only in Japan. In this version, you could play Success Mode on 5 different teams, each one offering their own benefits. This is actually the norm in the Power Pro Series, but my guess is Konami decided to strip things down trying to introduce this game to an international audience.

Success Mode typically has 4 templates for the different teams you can play on:

  • "The Powerfuls" - The well balanced, standard team you start out with.
  • "Gang/Frat" team - A team built around a charismatic captain and brotherhood. You need to work your way up the ranks by performing deeds.
  • "Bankrupt" team - A team facing bankruptcy/dissolution. You must manage the financial side of things as well.
  • "Corporate" team - Team lead by a tyrannical owner with state-of-the-art training equipment, but you face tough competition from teammates to stay on the active roster. You meet this team in the finals if you play on another team.

Gorgeous Blackjacks were (obviously) the "Corporate" team, based in Las Vegas and playing in a fictional Independent League named the Paradise League. Their home stadium Panpaka Park is available in MLB PP.
