This is a random event in Success mode that does not make use of Fate Cards. It is an event that can occur at least three times as the storyline advances. There appear to be no significant bonuses or changes to your character that occur.
1) Marvin is late to practice; he says the train was running late, but you confirm with Becky that there is no train.
2) Marvin is late to practice; he says someone stole his bike. You say that he lives right on campus and wouldn't need his bike anyway; he insists the trauma of having it stolen left him unable to move.
3) Marvin is late to practice; this time he claims a kid fell into a lake and Marvin had to rescue him. You tell Marvin there is no lake near here and call him out on his lies; he storms away upset that you would accuse him of lying.
4) Marvin is late to practice; he explains that there was a pregnant woman in labor that he had to stop and help. This time you talk to him about the many times he has come to practice late, and are given the option to flat-out bust him on the lies:
- Yes: call Marvin out as a liar
You and Becky find out that Marvin has been staring at a girl in the park, and borderline stalking her.
- No: Continue letting Marvin make up excuses
- Unknown - please fill in.
