Summary
These are a series of events in Success Mode 2008 that form Joey's side story.
Events
1st Event: Joey's Poem (Random)
The first event can only be triggered after Chief gets promoted to AAA. Chief meets Joey, who is writing a poem to send to his girlfriend. He agrees to let Chief read it if he does 100 push-ups:
- Fine, 100 push-ups.
- Joey recites his poem, which describes his come-from-behind game winning homer:
Oh!
When a white arrow flies through the sky...
The people will see a miracle.
The servants will line up...
And wait to greet the King upon his return.
- Fielders: Strength +11, Pitchers: Stamina +2
- Nah, forget it.
2nd Event: Letter from Hawaii (Random)
Chief meets Joey who shows him a letter from his girlfriend, who apparently now lives in Hawaii. He tells Chief to run 10 laps around the block to read the letter.
- Sure, whatever.
- Chief runs 5 laps but opens the letter without Joey's permission. Most of the letter is written in ancient Hawaiian. Part of the letter is in English, a love poem. Chief grows increasingly suspicious Joey's is lying about having a girlfriend.
- Vitality -5, Strength +11, Chance of Laziness
- I'll pass.
3rd Event: Meet Pelene (Random)
Chief is randomly introduced to Pelene, Joey's girlfriend, who gives him a Powerin Special. Chief still thinks something is fishy.
- Mentality +6, Chance of Good Pickoff
4th Event: Pelene Dissapears (Random)
Chief meets Joey in the vincinage one day and Joey tells him Pelene is missing.
- Chance of increase in Consistency
5th Event: Conclusion (Random)
Chief runs into Pelene at the Lake. She says she must go back to ancient Hawaii because her parents miss her. She proposes to Joey, and he accepts. The couple give Chief some items:
- Perfect Shot (Pitchers), Super Romance Necklace, X Shot (Batters)
- Carryover Points +2, Strength +6, Mentality +6
