Stranglers Beat Down On The Cubs. Keith Richards Hits Four Homers, But is Injured.

Scranton: 10
Chicago: 2
WP: Raul Gaddaba
LP: Ryan Dempster

Today for the Stranglers everything seemed to click. Gaddaba pitched a gem and scoring ten runs is nothing to laugh at. Gaddaba gave up one in the bottom half of the first. In the second, Mick Jagger hit a homer that just got out of the park, Lennon did the same, Richards followed, and George was so close to making it four in a row, but no. A double off the top of the wall would have to do. Gaddaba drove him in to make it 4-1. Keith Richards hit three more bombs, the last one a 505 ft. blast, to tie a major league record. Lennon also hit two. Howard and Kennedy joined in. To the bottom of the eighth Gaddaba was tired. Ramirez lofted one right wherevthe infamous Steve Bartman interfered with Moises Alou. Richards ran over from left and missed the catch, but not because of Steve Bartman, because he ran into the wall and broke his collarbone. Gaddaba went seven and two thirds and WildThing finished it off.
Richards is out until at least the postseason. That is if they make it.

Stranglers Win Again 9-1. Tim Wakefield dominates.

"The Stranglers are awesome." That's what biggest fan, Quentin Denton had to say about them after this win. The Stranglers were absolutely shut down and it was a big pitchers duel, until the seventh inning. In the second the Cubs got one run off Wakefield after a string of hits with Derek Lee driving a run in. Things stayed 1-0 until the seventh. John Lennon hit a homer after two singles Tim Wakefield blooped a hit into right field. Iut stayed 2-1 until the next inning when Sir Reginald McLeary hit a three run blast that got out in about a half of a second. They reached the top of the line up when Pablo doubled, and Ringo hit a home run. As did Kennedy. As did Howard. And then Mick Jagger bounced one off the wall. Déjà vu anyone? The Stranglers made it 9-1 and Wilson finished it off.

WP: Tim Wakefield

LP: Ted Lilly

MVP: Tim Wakefield.

Next player update: Bowling tournament between two Stranglers groups: Foreigners, Popular kids, Pros, and Joes.

Stranglers Strangle Mets, Take Game One of Two Game Series At Shea 7-1

Paul McCartney took the mound today and immediatley got run support with with the Stranglers scoring two, two out runs. A singles rally lead by Kennedy, Howard, and Lennon. McCartney was almost flawless, only giving up a home run to Carlos Beltran. He got 10 strikeouts in his complete game win. The Stranglers were all over Johan Santana today getting severn runs. Ttwo of the home run variety coming from Pablo, and Chris.

The Stranglers will finish off this two game series tommorow. Iff they win again the magic number will be 15.

Bring Out The Brooms! Stranglers Sweep Mets!

Stranglers: 7
Mets: 5

Very different outcome today it was a nail biter. In the first Kennedy and Howard hit back-to-back homers while Mick Jagger and Lennon hit back-to-back doubles to take a 3-0 lead. The Mets struck back with Jose Reyes, Carlos Delgado, and David Wright all scoring on a bases clearing, Carlos Beltran double. 3-3 and we haven't even played two innings yet. Ryan Howard hit another homer, this time a two run shot, to make it 5-3 in the sixth. Carlos Delgado did the same in the seventh. Just like that, both starting pitchers are done. Scary moment in the eighth, George Harrison was hit on the head with a pitch and islisted as day to day. In the top of the ninth Ringo reached, on a bunt, stole second and third to frustrate Billy Wagner. Wagner tried to blow it by Kennedy, but instead made a mistake pitch and Kennedy crushed it. 7-5. Wilson got the save.

Player Update

They were getting ready for the bowlling tournament when the drill seargent walked in,

Pepper: Bowling tournament is canceled.

The Players: What?!

Pepper: You heard me. We open a four game series against the Mets tommorow. We're in first place. You know how everyone said we would collapse? I will not let it happen now. Also no girlfriends and curfew is 7:30. You may read, study film, or watch educational television until 10:00, then its lights out.

John: Sir, we aren't on the road, so how will you know when we're in bed?

Pepper: Remember those friendship anklets from a week ago?

John: Yes.

Pepper: That's how.

Everyone: *gasps*

Mick: You've gotta be kidding.

Pepper: DROP AND GIVE ME 20 SON! Anyone else wanna try me?

They scattered.

Stranglers Win Again
Stranglers: 7
Mets: 4

The Stranglers got off to another great start with the top of the lineup scoring three runs. Paul McCartney gave up only two runs over seven innings with six strikeouts. Ryan Howard drove Paul in in the fourth to make it 6-1. The Mets were playing so poorly you could here the booing from New York. Ringobtacked on another run with his twelve homer of the season. 7-2. WildThing gave up two runs, and Wilson got the save.

Sgt. Pepper: "What did I tell you boys, no goofing around late at night, and you win ballgames. I think I'll keep these anklets on you forever, they seem to be working. For those of you that tried to take them off last night, don't bother, they're specially made by the army to bond and form a complete, unbreakable ring around your ankle, only 5 people know how to get them off, that's I, the President, and three former government spies in different undisclosed locations. So get used to them.

Azul Abuela cries.

Can You Spell Collapse New York?! Stranglers Win In 13 7-6.

What an amazing game. Johan Santana going for New York, Raul Gaddaba going for Scranton. The Stranglers got two runs in the first and the Mets got one. David Wright walked and Delgado doubled bringing Wright home from first. Scranton one upped Delgado and Wright however, and got two runs. On a Kennedy double and a Howard triple. John Lennon drove Howard home. It stayed 2-1 for what seemed like a millenium. It was only five innings, when in the sixth Scranton got to the Mets ace. Kennedy hit a three run, oppositefield shot and with that Santana was done and it was 5-1. The Mets came back in the seventh with a grand slam by Jose Reyes. Carlos Delgado also homered two batters later and the Mets were winning 6-5. Then in the ninth, The Stranglers down to their last strike, runners on first and third, Kennedy comes up, and singles through the middle! Tie game 6-6. This was an epic battle. In extras three scoreless innings, when in the ninth, Kennedy a triple away from the cycle gets exactly what he needed. He tripled! So now Ryan Howard brings him in right? WRONG! Kennedy stole home!!! He stole home! Shocking everyone in Panpaka Park.
"I really had to go to the bathroom so I didn't want to wait for Ryan." He said about the play.
The magic number is now 3 people!

Take Off Those Anklets Boys! Stranglers Clinch Division!

Stranglers: 9
Padres: 1
WP: Paul McCartney
LP: Jake Peavy
MVPS: Ryan Howard and Paul McCartney

"I told you I would pitch better next time, Miss Kate!" Thatf was all Paul said before running off to celebrate.
It was a blowout. The Stranglers powerful offense killed Jake Peavy. Peavy, who is usually up there as a Cy Young candadite, was beaten up today. Paul McCartney pitched a complete game gem, and they started counting down outs after five innings. The Stranglers are certainly this years surprise team. They are on a 15 game winning streak! Keep it up guys!

Player Update coming next.

I have a few questions to improve this log.
1.) Short game updates and long player updates? Or the other way around?
2.) Should I add the box score to games.
3.) How can I make this a better log for you?
