the Red Sox lost another big one tonight. They had a 1-0 lead and a stupid pickoff play by Buchholz cost them the tying run and then Tito kept him in for the 8th and boom he gives up the tying run again(he's been our ace this year but still)

then he HAD to use Atchison for the 10th when he had Papelbon warming up ready to come in. first batter, walk-off home run which may have ended the red sox season

bah

I honestly think Drew should of let the ball drop instead of trying to make the play don't you?

But how 'bout Kalish's catch? Made #1 Top Play on SC.

That was one hell of a catch. I don't think I've seen anything like that.

I have seen that kind of catch a few times...over the course of all my games in mlb power pros. I always thought it was the coolest catch in the game, and it happened very infrequently. Then when I saw Kalish make that catch, I immediately thought mlb power pros because that's the only place I've seen that kind of catch before.

he said he wanted it to drop but his instincts wanted him to catch it so his glove stuck out and BOOM he caught it :|

that looked a little more dramatic than it could have been but it was amazing, especially the somersault

Kalish is going to be great

true but a sweep would have been great and they had a lot of chances last night
but now they NEED to win tonight. they can't be 6.5 behind and possibly 7 back tomorrow, that would be too much

but man taking 2 of 3 from Tampa would be great. that would prove they can make this great comeback(they have 3 games with the Rays in early September)

and heck they have 6 more games with NY, who are struggling with their rotation right now. it's been a trainwreck after Sabathia. Vazquez, Burnett and Hughes(since the all-star break) have struggled mightily, especially Vazquez and Burnett

let's just hope they don't croak on Sunday Night like they've done a few times

also around baseball I will make my predictions for the division winners:

AL East - Rays : They have a very easy schedule at the end, 3 against Seattle, 3 against Baltimore and 4 against KC

AL Central - Twins : I don't think the White Sox will catch up, even with Manny

AL West - Rangers : This one is too easy. an 8.5 lead is enough

AL Wild Card - Yankees : I'd be worried about their rotation but they're still the Yankees, they'll find a way

NL East - Phillies : It's only a matter of time that the Phillies explode and manage to take the East

NL Central - Reds : It's been a magical season for the Reds and I think it will bring them to the NL Central crown but I think St. Louis still has a good chance of winning it

NL West - Padres : The best team in the NL according to record. Their pitching has been unbelievable without really having a super star in their pitching staff and only 1 star bat in Gonzo.

NL Wild card - Braves - They were going to make the postseason anyways, the fact that the Phillies will pass them gives them the wild card

so the playoff matchup would be:

Rangers vs Rays
Yankees vs Twins

Braves vs Padres
Reds vs Phillies

and...

AL MVP: Josh Hamilton
NL MVP: Joey Votto
AL Cy Young: Clay Buchholz
NL Cy Young: Adam Wainwright

I agree with the Divisons, but the induviduals I don't agree with.

Its between Josh and Miguel Cabera, plain and simple. Miguel is higher up on the board in every triple crown catagory except average, so I'm gonna give the edge to him.

Joey maybe leading the average race, but the Machine leads the other triple crowns catogories. I'm gonna have to go with Albert on this one.

Clay is one of three contenders, the other being CC and David Price. I think David has been the been the best.

Adam and Ubaldo are my two finalists, and I think Ubaldo was better this year.

here's my predictions:
AL MVP: Josh Hamilton
AL CY: Felix Hernandez (will never actually win)

NL MVP: Joey Votto
NL CY: Roy Halladay

Cabrera is a slightly better hitter, but Hamilton plays better defense at a more important position and is on a winning team. Hamilton leads the majors in WAR.
In the AL Cy Young, I really have no idea. Buchholz is as a good bet as any, but Felix has 50 more innings pitched... I think CC probably has the best chance of winning.
For NL MVP, it's just anybody's pick between Votto and Pujols. I give it to Votto, just so he gets some recognition. Votto and Pujols are tied in WAR.
In the NL Cy Young, Halladay has been just as effective as Wainwright, but he pitched 15 more innings, had 3 more complete games, and a better K/BB ratio. Jimenez had a great first half, but he's pitched even fewer innings, with a higher ERA. Halladay leads all pitchers in WAR.

Don't the White Sox know that Manny Ramirez can't hit a homer to save his life now???

Damn Red Sox lost. They've pretty much lost any chance of getting to the playoffs.

Gallardo and a clubhouse attendant got robbed at gunpoint outside a grocery store. That's exactly what they need, their best pitcher shot in the head. Good thing he wasn't shot, but the attendant was hit in the head.
