Chipper Jones is out for the rest of the year with a torn ACL.

Since the Red Sox are doing NOTHING this season, my main team this year is the Braves, also cause its Bobby's last year too. I have confidence in Brooks Conrad (Seven dingers mostly coming off the bench), but Chipper gone is a huge blow.

I'm not sure how I feel about the Giants acquiring Jose Guillen, but hey, signing Pat Burrell was an absolute steal, so I have faith.
Giants still have a chance at the division obviously, and if we can play like we did in July, we're going to win the division.

Dodgers and Padres can go suck it :P

yeah I'm watching the Padres/Giants series the most. they're on fox today but I'm stuck watching the Orioles @ Rays :|

this has really been a very good season. I mean no one saw the Padres or Reds competing, no one saw the Angels and Mariners being well out of it but some saw the Rangers dominating. No one saw the Giants offense be formidable with kung fu Panda having a down season, no one saw the Braves in 1st with the last year of Bobby Cox and the Phillies struggling to stay in it(and have stayed in it)

I can't wait for the postseason

Well, for once the Reds have a chance to really get ahead of the Cardinals, and they blow it. :mad!: Does anyone think the Reds have a chance? :grrrr:

I know they don't because the Brewers are taking first! Just kidding. They lost last night on a 3 run HR that bounced off Braun's glove.

What is wrong with Ron Gardenhire?! Why did he take Slowey out? Was it his pitch count or something?

I saw the Reds Cards fight on mlb.com and laughed... I would never bad mouth a club then provoke a fight.

Derek Lee is traded to the Atlanta Braves for three minor league pitchers.

I'm really excited, we can move Glaus over to his old postion at 3rd, keep Prado and Gonzalez at there respective positions, and have Lee at first. We can fill out our outfield with our seemingly endless bench

It's Sports Fan Psychology 101.
If one is a fan of a team, one usually refers to them as 'we' or 'us,' especially if they're doing well.

HOWEVER, if said team is doing poorly, many fans will start referring to the team as 'they' or 'them' rather than 'we' or 'us,' as if disassociating themselves with the poor play of the team.

They seem to be on a first name basis with players too. ex: Joe better throw a strike or WE are in trouble. It's so annoying!
