It's just good timing. It looks like his next three scheduled starts will be against teams with losing records: Indians, White Sox, and Orioles. He'll probably miss the series against the Royals though.

I am not sure, everyone thought he would debut on June 1 against the Astros but the Nationals pushed him back. The Astros are pretty bad but I guess they didn't want him to face the Reds next? Or maybe they just wanted him to make his big league debut at home so they could get the money from the tickets. That is probably it.

I wasn't saying that Strasburg made his debut specifically to face these bad teams, it's just how it worked out. The reason the Nationals wanted him to debut yesterday was to ensure he cannot attain Super Two status. He will become arbitration eligible for the first time after the 2013 season, instead of after the 2012 season. This is also why Mike Stanton didn't make his debut till yesterday as well.

This was the first championship victory by a team I root for I've ever seen (I think the Bulls won when I was 1 but, I can't remember that). I went to Dick's Sporting Goods for a champions shirt today and they lady there said they had 8 more trucks filled with stuff coming. And the place was packed. 3 years ago the Hawks were pretty irrelavent in Chicago sports. Now, they're everything.

Lets see, when I started watching sports I watched the Red Sox win in 2007 and Celtics in 2008. Conveniently I had an eye doctor after both games so I got to miss school both days and go to a store to get the champion shirt. And the Blackhawks are the same as the Bruins almost. A few years ago the Bruins meant NOTHING but after an amazing Game 6 win against Montreal in the 1st round(they lost the series in 7 games but put up a great fight although we were very much underdogs). Not the Bruins are huge in Boston (less after that series against the Flyers...)

All I can say is this in response: Damn you Adam Viniatieri, and damn you Angels. :P
(Rams 2001, SF Giants 2002)

Haven't been working on my log because I've been playing Pro Evo Soccer on the Wii, since it's World Cup time. I'm sorry.

Well the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2007 and it was a very exciting game with the Patriots winning until the last two minutes, and I was very excited but it just wouldn't be the same as if the Mets won the World Series. I am not that big of a football fan.

Hmm... I fondly remember 2003 and my Carolina Panthers going up against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl (Screw you Viniateri). I also remember 2007 world series with Red Sox.

I remember when the Hawks won the Stanley Cup. It's like it was only yesterday. Wait a sec...

There was a minor earthquake in San Diego yesterday during the Padres-Jays game!

woo-hoo 20 minutes until Game 6 of the NBA finals :yay:

The Celtics have made Boston forget about the Bruins as they lead 3-2 in the series and can become surprising NBA champions against the hated Lakers

But it's tough trying to win in LA, especially with the next 2 games there
