Tolar, Cannizaro Given First Names, Uniform Numbers

MINNESOTA—In a gesture that solidifies their status in the organization, top pitching prospects Tolar and Cannizaro were given first names and uniform numbers. First, the #14 overall pick was announced as Matthew Tolar, who will wear #44. Then, the remaining prospect was officially named Jonathan Cannizaro and given #18.

Ninth Inning Explosion Wins Game For Twins, Settings Change Announced

CLEVELAND—BennyBaseball changing settings to Baserunning: Semi-Auto Expert was not the story of the day. Rather, it was what Minnesota did down 5-4 in the top of the ninth. After Mike Lamb got on, Adam Everett crushed a double to score him and tie it up. Manager Benny Leo (my famous person stage name) made a tough decision. He brought in Bautista, who walked. Delmon Young hit a 2-Run double, Mauer drove him in, and two batters later, Morneau crushed a shot into the rightfield seats. The final score was 10-5.

W: Korecky
L: Borowski (1-4)
MVP: D. Young
HR: Sizemore (12), Hafner (16), Mauer (7), Morneau (13)

MIN

L. Hernandez: 6 2/3 IP, 5 R, 13 H, 5 Ks, BB

Korecky (W): 1 1/3 IP, 0 R, 1 H, K

Big-League Lucky: Cannizaro Gets Call-Up

MINNESOTA—In a stunning twist in the bullpen plot this year, Bobby Korecky and Michael O'Connor have been sent down to make room for Juan Rincon and draft pick Jonathan Cannizaro. Cannizaro is predicted by many experts to be a future starter who, if he gets his stamina up and curveball breaking, could be a force to be reckoned with in the American League. When asked about draft pick Matthew Tolar, sources familiar with the Twins organization said that "[we] haven't forgot about him yet."

Mauer is ecstatic at his current performance rate, and is thrilled that the rookies have as much potential as they do.

Cannizaro Implodes, Neshek Gives Up Game-Winner

MINNESOTA—Jonathan Cannizaro, who had only given up 1 run in 4 innings up to that point, gave the Brewers 6 runs in the bottom of the ninth to lose the ame for Minnesota. Many question manager Benny Leo's decision to leave Cannizaro in the game and not give the ball to Nathan at the end. "It was stupid," Leo said in a press conference. "I just wanted to push my luck, and I got burned." Bonser gave up four runs in his spot start. After the game, Delmon Young was announced as AL Player of the Week.

So long as he doesn't pull a Boof Bonser and give up 11 runs in three innings :)

I'll figure out a way to put it in there but keep the same format.

Haha I almost skipped over this.

Please tell me if I'm the only one who thinks this trade isn't a bad idea.

Giants Get:

Jason Kubel (RF)
Joe Nathan (CL)
Francisco Liriano (SP)

Twins Get:
Tim Lincecum (SP)
Barry Zito (SP)
Randy Winn (RF)

Success Rate:****

If I pull it off, Neshek becomes the closer, Rincon sets up, someone in the rotation moves to the pen or gets traded for a middle reliever or weak hitter. Winn becomes right fielder, Cuddyer becomes DH. Winn does not start in NL, but hits leadoff in AL. The lineup would be:

Winn
Young
Mauer
Morneau
Cuddyer
Harris
Lamb
Everett
Gomez

Have I gone mad? Or is this a legitimately good idea?
