I thought the Panthers faced the Eagles this week. Or am I thinking of another team?

Haha suck it Giants! No playoffs for you(I hate the Giants)

And the Buccanears won in New Orleans with a FG in Overtime

Now I gotta hope for the Jets to win, I hate the Colts too

And I'm a Pats fan because I used to live in Boston and the Redskins don't cut it at all. And the Pats destroyed the Jaguars hopes and they can do it next week in Houston too

Steelers eeked out a win against Baltimore. We need the Eagles to win for our playoff hopes to be legitimate.

Dallas Wins. Giants out. Saints turning back into the Aints. Just a "normal" day in the 2009 NFL season.

Well it all comes down to this final week but the only thing I'm really focused on is the AFC Wild Card and Eagles/Cowboys game

The Jets and Ravens control their own destiny so they just win they're in, the Ravens have to go into Oakland who has been able to beat some good teams this year and the Jets play on Sunday Night Football so a lot of fans will have to wait to figure out that AFC Wild card race
Here below are is the 2009 NFL playoff picture froM Yahoosports.com

Quote:
5. New York Jets (8-7) – Currently No. 5 seed based on better conference record than Houston (6-5 to 5-6) and better record in common games (3-1) than Denver (2-2) and Baltimore (0-4).Would clinch No. 5 seed with win. Eliminated with loss to Cincinnati (because Jets then would not beat Denver in common games tie).
Sunday: vs. Cincinnati, 8:20 ET (NBC)

6. Baltimore Ravens (8-7) – Currently No. 6 seed because of better division record than Pittsburgh (3-3 to 2-4), better conference record than Houston (6-5 to 5-6) and head-to-head victory vs. Denver. Would clinch No. 5 seed with win and New York loss. Would clinch No. 6 seed with win and New York win. Eliminated with loss.
Sunday: at Oakland, 4:15 ET (CBS/DirecTV 717)

7. Denver Broncos (8-7) – Currently No. 7 seed due to better conference record than Houston (6-5 to 5-6). Would clinch No. 5 seed with New York loss and Baltimore loss and Houston loss and Pittsburgh loss and Jacksonville loss. Would clinch No. 5 seed with win and New York loss and Baltimore loss and either Pittsburgh loss or Houston win. Would clinch No. 6 seed with win and 1) New York loss or Baltimore loss (not both), and 2) Pittsburgh and/or Houston loss. Would clinch No. 6 seed with loss and either 1) New York loss and Baltimore loss and Houston loss and Miami loss and Jacksonville loss, or 2) Pittsburgh loss and losses by three of the following: New York, Baltimore, Houston, Jacksonville. Eliminated with 1) Jets win and Ravens win, or 2) Steelers win and Texans loss and either Jets win or Ravens win. Eliminated with loss and 1) Pittsburgh win and New York win or Baltimore win or Houston win or Jacksonville win, or 2) Miami win and wins by at least two of the following: New York, Baltimore, Houston, Jacksonville.
Sunday: vs. Kansas City, 4:15 ET (CBS/DirecTV 716)

8. Houston Texans (8-7) – Currently 8th in AFC because of better record than Pittsburgh in common games (3-1 to 1-3). Would clinch No. 5 seed with win and New York loss and Baltimore loss and Denver loss. Would clinch No. 6 seed with win and losses by two of the following: New York, Baltimore, Denver. Eliminated with loss or wins by at least two of the following: New York, Baltimore, Denver.
Sunday: vs. New England, 1 ET (CBS/DirecTV 706)

9. Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7) – Would clinch No. 5 seed with win and New York loss and Baltimore loss and Houston loss. Would clinch No. 6 seed with win and either 1) New York loss and Baltimore loss and Denver loss and Houston win, or 2) Houston loss and either New York loss or Baltimore loss. Eliminated with loss or 1) New York and Baltimore wins, or 2) Houston win and New York, Baltimore or Denver win.
Sunday: at Miami, 1 ET (CBS/DirecTV 707)

10. Miami Dolphins (7-8) – Currently No. 10 seed based on head-to-head win over Jacksonville but would lose multiple-team 8-8 ties with Jacksonville because of worse conference record (7-5 to 6-6). Would be No. 6 seed with win and New York loss and Baltimore loss and Denver loss and Houston loss and Jacksonville loss. Eliminated with loss/tie or New York win/tie or Baltimore win/tie or Denver win/tie or Houston win/tie or Jacksonville win.
Sunday: vs. Pittsburgh, 1 ET (CBS/DirecTV 707)

11. Jacksonville Jaguars (7-8) – Would win all 8-8 ties because of 7-5 conference record. Would be No. 5 seed with win and New York loss and Baltimore loss and Denver loss and Houston loss and Pittsburgh loss. Would be No. 6 seed with win and 1) New York loss and Baltimore loss and Denver loss and Houston loss and Miami loss, or 2) Pittsburgh loss and loss by exactly one of the following: New York, Baltimore, Denver, Houston. Eliminated with loss or wins by at least two of the following: New York, Baltimore, Denver, Houston.
Sunday: at Cleveland, 1 ET (CBS/DirecTV 705)

But the Patriots/Texans game will have some meaning. If the Patriots win then the Texans are eliminated and then the Bengals won't need to go all out to win the game against the Jets because they'll be the 4th seed which could give the Jets an easy win and not to mention if the Jets win then they'll play the Bengals in the 1st round, the Bengals don't want to show them their whole playbook. But if the Texans beat the Patriots, the Texans will still have a chance and then the Bengals can go all out on the Jets to play for the number 3 seed in the AFC, thus eliminating the Jets if they win and giving a chance to the Broncos, Steelers and Texans who i think are the only non Wild Card leading team still alive

here are my predictions for week 17 for the important games that don't involve NFC teams with home field and that stuff because I really only care about AFC teams cause my favorite team is an AFC team:

Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys - Cowboys
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Cleveland Browns - Jaguars
New England Patriots @ Houston Texans - Patriots
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Miami Dolphins - Dolphins
Kansas City Chiefs @ Denver Broncos - Broncos
Baltimore Ravens @ Oakland Raiders - Raiders
Cincinnati Bengals @ New York Jets - Jets

I know that this is a stretch, especially the Ravens game but its just a prediction

The Dolphins will not make the playoffs but they will still knock of the Steelers somehow, the Jaguars have no chance either. The Patriots will eliminate the Texans(who won't have a winning season again) which will make Cincy not have to go all out and rest their players against the Jets who are now in the playoffs, the Ravens will be upset late by the Raiders in Oakland and then the Cowboys will come through to win in Dallas because everyone thinks they'll lose and thats when the Cowboys come through
So if this all happens then this is how the AFC will look in the first round:

Chargers/Colts(First Round Bye)

Broncos(6) Vs Patriots(3)

Jets(5) Vs Bengals(4)

Any thoughts, I seem off on this but it's still possible...

Well we can just throw my predictions out the roof

But the Dolphins and Jaguars are officially eliminated

The Texans won their game and need 2 of these teams to lose: Jets, Broncos, Ravens and congrats on your first winning season and I'm hoping for them to make the playoffs. As for the Steelers they need all the Jets, Broncos and Ravens to lose to make the playoffs, and they still have to win, I HIGHLY doubt the Steelers have a chance

And the Giants lost BAD and went 8-8 this season without many excuses. The Saints and Colts both lost 2 so not much momentum heading into the playoffs even though they rested their starters

Coming up soon is Ravens/Raiders to decide a lot and then tonight Jet/Bengals

What an NFL day

If BALTIMORE losses, Pittsburgh is in. My brother will be very happy.

No the only way Pittsburgh is in is if they won(which they did) and they need the Ravens AND Broncos AND Jets to lose. It will take a ton for them to get it and currently have the smallest chance to get it

Meanwhile, my Rams have clinched the top pick in the draft and hopefully Ndamukong Suh! :D

Oh poor rams

But for the Patriots it looks like we won't have Welker in the playoffs. That's just terrible, on a day to rest starters we lose our most valuable reciever, there's no way we beat the Colts or Chargers without him

Even the CBS guys says the Rams will get Ndumakong (whatever it's spelled) Suh:

JB: ..and the Rams lock up the first pick of the NFL Draft, and...
Everybody else: Ndumakong Suh
JB: And he plays for what college?
EE: Nebraska
JB: ...which is close to St. Louis, right?
