That would be interesting. We know Bay is going, Molina is a good fit but the Zambrano thing is the most suprising and apparently the Mets would give up Castillo and another young player and could be a 3-team deal for Zambrano.

It may not happen but it would be pretty big for the Mets if it did

Molina as their starting catcher... that's laughable.

If you already know that we'd heard of it then why did you post it?

You know, after you posted that, there's a way you can delete the post.

This would be awesome. We get three big bats for our lineup and fill our top holes. If we got rid of Castillo we could sign Hudson which would be a major improvement. I don't care which prospect it would be; Castillo and a prospect for an ace caliber pitcher is a great deal.

HENDRY YOU MORON!!!! The cubs are gonna sign Marlon Byrd to a 3 year contract!!! Has he learned nothing from Fukudome, Soriano and Bradley? At least it's only 5 million a year, but I still think it's a huge mistake to commit to him for 3 years. :kaboom: :cussin: There better not be a no trade clause...

EDIT: OK, I've had a chance to calm down now. I can't really say that Byrd is bad, and getting him for 5 mil a year might be a pretty good deal. I'm just worried he might deteriorate over the 3 years and we'll be stuck with him just like all the others.

Byrd did have a good year this year and he plays good defense

But they should've signed Ankiel, they badly need a good lefty bat and Ankiel hit 25 homeruns or something like in 2008

The Sox are negotiating with Adrian Beltre quietly, much like the Lackey deal was done.
:picard:

I'm against signing Beltre one-hundred percent.

Do NOT do it Theo.

What's wrong with Beltre? He plays good defense, and has a good power bat. Plus you can keep Youkilis at first base and not have to trade for Adrian Gonzalez. This way you can keep your prospects.

Ankiel? Sorry, but 08 was his only good year. He had a breakout, then went straight back to sucking last season. Besides, Byrd had a higher WAR last year than Ankiel's 08 WAR.

He's priced too high. That's why I'm against it. Unless Beltre is willing to take four million a year with a club option for 2011, it really isn't worth it to me. The guy has lost most of his power after his injury, I'm sure. Besides, we are still undecided on the Lowell decision. If we have two guys over 34 making a lot of money, playing the same position, then we have problems.

The Sox should have signed Nick Johnson, so he could play first and move Youkilis over to third. That would have been a win-win for all.

Dude, go join a Yankees site. Did we Cubs, Red Sox, Giants, Rays, whatever fans really want to see you waste half a page?

He didn't write that. I'm too lazy to find the original source at this time, but I can assure you he did not write that. Also, if a team puts Aroldis in the majors right off the back, they are going to ruin his development and throw a potential all-star starter down the drain.
