OK, my science fair project this year is to see which genre of video games will increase the heart rate most. I need a little help collecting data for my hypothesis. Please answer that poll!

I would say racing but not Mario Kart. That is not intense. More like Need for Speed, that is intense.

You could do this also at a well-known poll place and see what you get there.

Anyways, great place to start.

The three that are almost in a complete tie with me for most intense are racing, fighting, and adventure. Puzzle doesn't even stand a chance and sports only when its a close game. I say fighting because nothings more intense than throwing punches.

The results are going along with my research so far. Puzzle, tending to be more casual, doesn't have a single vote, and fighting, with all its violence, has the most.

The most intense would probably be action.

But are there any normal people who actually get an increased heart rate by playing a video game?

Well, yeah. There have been other studies that show that video games can increase heart rate. I'm just taking it further to see which genre increases it the most.

First Person Shooter?

I don't have an FPS, so I can't use that one.

Multiplayer First-person shooters are going to raise adrenaline and excitement levels the most.

Playing a FPS by yourself is one thing, but playing online -realizing there are other minds at work seeking to kill you - really heightens the senses.

I should know, I was addicted to them for over a year.

I'd guess the only kind that would actually increase heart rate would have to be amazingly realistic horror games.

I am sorry but Power Pros does not increase your heart rate.

Guys, it doesn't matter whether all of them raise heart rate (even though All my research shows that they do), I'm just trying to see which one increases heart rate the most. And once AGAIN, I don't have an FPS, so it's not part of the experiment.

Hey, guys. Remember this? Well, I just did this experiment on my mom and this is what it was like with her playing Brawl.

Mom: WHY WON'T HE DO ANYTHING WHEN I PUSH THE BUTTON!
Me: He is!
Mom: I don't even know witch one I am! King Dede?
Me: No! You're Meta Knight! The little one!
Mom: OH MY GOD! HERE COMES THAT GUY AGAIN!
Me: Just jump over him! JUMP OVER HIM!
Mom: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!
Me: Mom! You did it!
Mom: Wait, what just happened?
Me: You dodged him, then he knocked your opponent off the stage... and you just ran offscreen and died. Again.
