This season went by pretty quick. How much time do you spend on Power Pros each day? How many games do you play?

It all depends on my time, I have a lot of free time in the fall after school so I do this anytime that I'm home with nothing to do. I don't play as many games as I should and I sim alot of parts of games for some so I don't play 30 or 40 full games a year
and looking back at the posts I started this season around 25 days ago which seems kind of long ago..

National League Division Series Preview - Florida Marlins Vs Pittsburgh Pirates

Image Image

The Marlins are right now running on adreneline as they come into the postseason as the "fairytale" team. They went 20-7 in the August to come back and later won the NL Wild Card on the last day of the regular season. The Marlins don't actually have many strong points as it looks at first, they scored 791 runs with an offense that had some stars on it with some career years but their pitching staff had a 4.56 ERA, on the other side the Pirates scored only 752 runs but had the most stolen bases in the National League led by the legs of Andrew McCutchen(53/55 SB) but they easily make up for lack of offense with an MLB best 3.69 ERA. The players to look out for in the Marlins lineup are Dan Uggla(38 HR, 127 RBI led team), Hanley Ramirez(.334 AVG, 22 HR), Delgado(33 HR, .322 AVG), Hermida(35 HR), Coghlan(.312 AVG, 15 HR) and not to forget Maybin and Helms who add speed and defense with good enough offense. The Marlins are set to start LHP Andrew Miller in game 1 because Johnson pitched on the last game of the season to win the wild card and Josh Johnson is going to be quite a challenge to Pittsburgh. Leo Nunez and former Pirates Ross Ohlendorf will be the set up men to closer Matt Lindstrom who was 22/23 for saves this season. As for the Pirates, the 2010 cy young winner Anibal Sanchez, former Marlins, will start game 1 for the Pirates. The Pirates offense was a weakness but had some very bright spots such as Ikari(32 HR, 120 RBI), McCutchen(.348 AVG), Jones(28 HR, 99 RBI), Werth(25 HR, 117 RBI), and Doumit(.296 AVG, 20 HR). As for relief, Neshek and Bautista will try to set up closer Huston Street who was 40/44 for saves and a 2.96 ERA.
Down Below are the rotations:

Florida Marlins

SP - Johnson : 15-7, 3.57 ERA
SP - Nolasco : 11-5, 3.44 ERA
SP - Miller : 9-14, 4.66 ERA (Game 1 Starter)
SP - Mitre : 10-7, 4.12 ERA
SP - Volstad : 11-8, 4.23 ERA

Pittsburgh Pirates

SP - Sanchez : 16-6, 2.87 ERA (Game 1 Starter)
SP - Cook : 13-7, 2.66 ERA
SP - Duke : 11-7, 3.47 ERA
SP - Maholm : 8-11, 4.26 ERA
SP - Karstens : 9-8, 4.97 ERA

Marlin's Bats Explode As Pirates Already In Big Hole

October 5 -- The Marlins bats were relentless in their upsetting game 1 victory over the Pirates at PNC Park as the Pirates fall to 0-2 in their postseason history at PNC Park. It was really an ugly game as the Marlins scored their first run in the 1st inning with a passed ball that got by Doumit and Hermida made it 2-0 in the 2nd with a solo homerun. The Pirates made another key error in the 4th inning down 2-0, the runner got started from first base by the Marlins so there was a line drive to left field that was dropped by Werth so instead of a possible double play there were 2 on and the bases would be loaded with no outs and cleared by Wes Helms with a 3-run double to left field where Florida took a 5-0 lead against Anibal Sanchez. The Pirates trailed 7-2 going into the 7th inning where they got hope with an opposite field homerun by Jayson Werth to chase Andrew Miller out of the game make it a 2 run game at 7-5. But the Marlins kept on scoring with a run in the 8th and 2 runs in the 9th with a 2-run single by Hanley Ramirez to put the game out of reach at 10-5 , the Pirates scored once in the 9th but could not muster anything else. With this loss, the Pirates will be forced to play games four and five at Landshark Stadium if there is a game 4 and a game 5 and the Pirates are in a big hole with not only that, but also Josh Johnson and Ricky Nolasco have yet to make appearances so far.

Doumit Plays Hero In Extras As Pirates Avoid 0-2 Hole

October 6 -- The Pirates might have had a season saving win tonight as the Pirates won their first ever postseason game in PNC Park in thrilling fashion. It looked like last night at the beginning when the Marlin's scored 2 runs in the first with an RBI double by Jeremy Hermida and an RBI single by Hanley Ramirez in the 2nd inning at that point made it 3-1 in the 2nd inning. In the 3rd inning, all part of McCutchen's big day at the plate, he hit a game tying 2-run homerun off of Sergio Mitre to tie the game at 3. The offense would be quiet until the 8th inning when young Chris Coghlan came through for Florida with a go-ahead RBI double and the Marlins looked like put it away in the 9th when Hanley Ramirez went deep with his 4th hit of the game for the 5-3 lead. But Matt Lindstrom couldn't hold it down and Andrew McCutchen came through once again with a 1 out 2-run double to tie the game at 5-5. That would set the stage for Ryan Doumit who homers to deep to right in the 10th inning for the walk-off homerun which ties the series 1-1 and so tomorrow will be the Pirates last NLDS game at PNC Park before going to Landshark Stadium for a game 4.

Volstad and Marlins Bats Send Fish to Florida With 2-1 Series Lead

October 8 -- The Pirates have played sloppy in all 3 days and if it wasn't for the miracle two nights ago, the Pirates season would be over but for now the Marlins head back to Miami with a 2-1 series lead over the heavily favored Pirates. Ikari hit an RBI single in the 1st inning to make it 1-0 but Doumit struggled behind the plate again and the game was tied in the second inning with a passed ball and Helms gave Florida a 2-1 lead in the 4th with his 4th RBI of the series. It was all Marlins after Ikari's RBI single though, they continued their attack with an RBI single in the 6th by Coghlan and then in the 8th inning Delgado made it 5-1 and then in the 9th he homered again to make it 7-1 as the bullpen gave up 3 runs in the game and 2 runs by Duke were unearned. Garrett Jones hit a solo homerun in the 9th but that had no effect on the outcome as they fell 7-2. One of the main stories of the day was the pitching of Chris Volstad pitching in his first ever postseason game and he shined with a complete game and the Pirates season hangs by the threads as they need to win 2 in Florida.

the marlins offense is too much. there was a day off before this and in game 2 Delgado had the sad purple face and it went back to normal he caught fire

but Ramirez, Uggla, Hermida and Delgado are already good but Coghlan, Paulino, Helms and Maybin have all hit very well too

and not to mention that Maybin and Volstad were my created players, I created them and they beat their master

Fontenot's Career Night Saves Pittsburgh's Season in Emotional Game 4

October 9 -- The Pirates spirits went up and down to an all-time high at one point, to an all-time low and back to high again as the Pirates force a decisive game 5 in Landshark Stadium tomorrow night. With the Pirates up 1-0 in the 3rd inning, Hanley Ramirez gave the Marlins the lead with a 2-run homerun and then an RBI single by Wes Helms in the 6th inning made it 3-1. But the Pirates probably got the biggest hit of the season in the 7th inning with 2 outs and 2 on, Mike Fontenot hit a 3-run homerun to right field to give the Pirates the lead in dramatic fashion at 4-3. The Pirates offense scored 2 more in the 9th inning, one more was from an RBI single by Fontenot again, to go ahead 6-3 which seems insurmountable with Huston Street getting his first save chance of this postseason, but lets say it was ugly. Ramirez and Cody Ross both singled to lead off the 9th and Carlos Delgado broke the Pirates hearts at that point with a game tying 3-run homerun to left field to tie the game with a devastating homerun. The Pirates persevered though and it payed off in the 11th inning when Mike Fontenot drove in his 5th run of the game with a 2 out single to left field for the 7-6 lead. Yates allowed a 1 out single in the 9th and Beimel became an unlikely pitcher to close it out but he did getting Hermida to hit into a game ending double play which forces a game 5, both teams are going to be drained after this classic.

Pirates Stun Marlin's To Head to NLCS

October 11 -- The Pirates stunned a sell-out crowd at Landshark Stadium to head to the National League Championship Series. This was a great matchup with the Marlin's Josh Johnson who was the Marlins ace and won 20 games in 2009 and Anibal Sanchez, the 2010 Cy Young winner. But Johnson got pounded in the 1st inning, first an RBI single by Susumu Ikari, a 2-run single by Steve Pearce and an RBI single by Ryan Doumit capped a 4 run first inning. Anibal Sanchez got redemption as he struck out 11 hitters in 6 2/3 innings and gave up no runs as he looked like the ace we all know and love. Huston Street got to pitch the 9th inning and a groundout to Garrett Jones ended this exciting NLDS in which the Marlins led 2-1 at one point.
