I stumbled across this today while searching for new video games.

These are the overall Wii game rankings from Metacritic. Metacritic combines reviews from all major video game reviews sources, puts them on a 100 point scale, and averages them out to get their total score. I'd never heard of this site before today and found it interesting that even MLB Power 2008 for DS got a better score than any other 2K baseball game.

Baseball Blast isn't in the overall standings since it has only one rating. That rating is a 60 from IGN.

MLB Power Pros 2008 ranks at #263 in the DS standings with a score of 70.

For a second I thought this would be a pretty reliable website, maybe for which games to ask for Christmas. But then I saw Super Mario Galaxy as number 1 for Wii... I don't know if I'll be going back.

For the most part it's pretty reliable. Nothing's perfect. And Super Mario Galaxy was pretty solid anyways.

The Metascores can be misleading at times because of the conversion to a 100-point scale. It's generally fine if the conversion is from a 10-point scale, but problematic for A-F grades.

How is MLB Power Pros 2008 worse than the original? They added a whole new mode! Maybe it is the success mode.

What did MLB 09 The Show get?

I think if hell existed, you would be forced to constantly play Super Mario Galaxy.

That is by far the worst game I have ever had the displeasure of playing.

Also, MLB 09 is tied for 14th on PS3 with a 90.

Edit: Oh my god the top PS3 game is GTA IV, is this some kind of terrible joke?!
However it does seem that, although every number one game they have sucks, that the rest is decently placed.

and PS3 doesn't have many quality games anyways...

Seriously? Every system has a lot of quality games, except maybe XBox.

there's a reason why PS2 games were still outselling PS3 games as late as sometime this year (forget when it stopped)
and by outselling, i mean selling more copies per month)...
and xbox had some great games (both my older brothers had 'em)
Project Gotham Racing needs to come to Wii.

Personally, I always use Metacritic ratings, because even if the Metascore isn't very accurate, they still link to all the reviews and opinions. That's the site I always use when looking for something.

That's pretty much what I've found. It's helped a ton!

I mainly just made this thread to show that we're not alone in thinking Power Pros tops all other 2k games.
