I just got braces this morning with the wires and everything, but they wont stop hurting me, is there any medicine or something else to stop the pain.

3 advil, my man. Yes, i know you are only supposed to take one, but it doesn't work unless you take three. And it'll be a solid week before they stop. If school has started, sneak them in your pocket and mix em in with your lunch.

Actully I started school last week, and my brother gave me one advil to take. I put it in my pocket, just incase if my mouth start hurting.

As much as your brother is trying to help, that's no good, you need two at a minimum, probably three, if they hurt as bad as you imply.

uh, so it will be three then, I also try some vicks around my mouth, does that help

i dunno.
i hate that feeling, every time they get tightened it hurts for about a day and a half.

but rub some orthodontic wax on where it hurts, that helps.
i can still eat tostitos and pringles (my guilty pleasures) like before braces, though, so...
and at least you get them off in the middle of high school.
much better than during high school (or at least at the very beginning of high school)

edit: also, use the proxy brush (like a tiny toothbrush) a lot. i use it tons, it really helps.

Yeah, whenever my teeth hurt from that, I always have 1 ibuprofen nearby.

Man this brings back memories. They will eventually stop hurting. But everytime you get a new wire they will hurt. Also when they start using a chain thats hurts a lot to. Just hope they don't use the head gear. I never had to use that but it looks like it would hurt the most. Not to mention on how it looks too.

I need braces, and the pain doesn't make it sound very fun

it's usually fine except for the crap that gets caught in the wires.
but when it gets tightened...

Ahhh, I remember that feeling. Like your gums and the roots of your teeth itch but you can’t scratch them. The day I got my braces I took an elbow to the mouth during a basketball game. I lost a couple of brackets and the wire broke and punctured my lip. I was a bloody mess.

i wa eating a steak about a month ago when a bracket came off.
i was on vacation, though, so it took a month's wait to get it fixed.

even though when I talk or eat it hurts alot, right after my lunchtime, I didnt felt like eating anymore.
