Yeah Pudge to the Rangers I think is a good move, they relize that they have a chance for the wild card and want to bring in a veteran who will help the team in the short run (make the playoffs, play defense) and in the long run ( will help teach Saltamacchia and Teagarden). That's what GMs look for in a trade, someone that can help them in the short and long run.

Huff to the Tigers is also a good move. As Huff put it, he's been on a losing team almost is whole career, now he can finally win.

I'm sure most of you already know, but I haven't seen it posted, Smoltz was released a few days back. I think his career is over.

What a rollercoaster game last night with the Jays and BoSox, of all people, Josh Beckett got shelled for 7 ER in 5 1/3 IP. Sox came away with the 10-9 victory, even though I though Pap was going to blow it.

I looked on MLB.com, and it said the Cards are eyeing Smoltz.

Smoltz says he doesn't want to retire.

He doesn't want to but he may have to if he replicates a 2-5 8.32 ERA.

i dunno if that's good or bad. Smoltz has been pitching terribly, but scouts say he pitched well in the beginning of games for the Sox. That means he could be very effective in the bullpen. His experience is also a plus.

In other news, Mariners acquire 3B Bill Hall from the Brewers

Jerry Remy's gonna be back on Friday for red sox/yankees!

He's an improvement over who we've had by far (I liked Eckersly though)

But only for part-time but its still good to see him back

Forget that... Did you see his homerun? That swing was horrible, and it bounced off the top of the wall and out. For once in my life I can say this: I can hit atleast 1 homerun farther than Ortiz. What a terrible swing....

Bill Hall to the Mariners is definately showing you that even they are like 8-9GB of the Division and like 6 of the wild card, they still want to contend. Hall can perform better than he showed this year.

Maybe he just needs a change of scenery, he did hit 35 homeruns a few year ago

But I'm pretty sure the mariner have the best ERA in the AL, if they get some offense they could be really good

I know it was a really bad swing. However, it was only a HR as Ortiz was strong enough. The curveball that he hit from Halladay was really hanging.

Poor Buccholz. In his last 3 starts he's been facing Sabathia, Verlander and Halladay

Buccholz has actually been pitching well

Not poor Buchholz that's good. At his age, he needs to pitch against the top pitchers in the league. Those starts should help him in the long run.
