My Deadline Picks:
NL West: Dodgers
NL Central: Cards
NL East: Phils
NL WC: Giants

Cards vs. Phils in NLCS
Phils will win in 6. With the staff of Hamels, Lee, Blanton, and Martinez in Relief? The Cards will win two with Albert, but thats not enough.

AL West: Rangers
AL Central: Tigers
AL East: Yankees
AL WC: Red Sox

Red Sox vs. Yanks in ALCS
This is tough, but I'm going to have to say Red Sox in 7. The Red Sox have been great against the Yanks all season, but the Sox pitchers will have to step up against the dangerous Yanks offense.

WORLD SERIES 2009:
Red Sox vs. Phillies
Phillies in 7. Again, its that pitching staff. and if Martinez can get his stuff back, he'd make a great closer!

I thought of something that could be of value to the Red Sox if it DOES come down to a Phillies-Red Sox world series. Victor Martinez has caught Lee the past few years. He knows all of his stuff, and that could help win the Red Sox at least one game against the Phillies.

My predictions:

AL East: Red Sox
AL Central: White Sox
AL West: Angels
AL Wild Card: Rangers

NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Cardinals (I will always have hope for the Cubs, though)
NL West: Dodgers
NL Wild Card: Giants

ALDS: Red Sox vs. Rangers (Red Sox in 4); White Sox vs. Angels (Angels in 5)
ALCS: Red Sox vs. Angels (Red Sox in 6)

NLDS: Phillies vs. Giants (Phillies sweep); Cardinals vs. Dodgers (Cardinals in 5)
NLCS: Phillies vs. Cardinals (Phillies in 7)

World Series: Red Sox vs. Phillies (I'm not EVEN going to attempt to guess this one)

I disagree with the Phillies sweeping the NLDS. Frankly, the Giant's pitching is just way too good to be swept. Lincecum + Wilson just shutout the Phillies. Phillies bullpen might not hold up incase of extra innings. Chan Ho Park is "very" reliable.

AL East: Yankees ;p
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: Angels
AL WC: Royals kidding. Red Sox

NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Cards
NL West: Dodgers
NL WC: Nationals, its still possible. Actually, Giants

ALDS: Yankees beats Tigers in 4 (See the regular season head to head)
ALDS: Red Sox in 5 (Again)

NLDS: Phillies beat Giants in 5 (Lincecum and Cain to win 1 a piece and Lee pitches a perfect game in game 5)
NLDS: Cards in 5 (Cards has better top of the rotation pitching and they just beat the Dodgers a few days ago)

ALCS: Not going to comment. *Senses Game 7 at Yankees Stadium with Tim Wakefield pitching at the bottom of the 11th"
ALCS: I seriously have no clue. Holliday played so well against the Phillies in the ALDS in 07. Phillies in 7, Lee pitches yet another perfect game in game 7. lol.....

World Series: AL pervails in 6. Pitching wins championships and the Phillies still have a very shacky Bullpen and Rotation MVP = Damon/Posada/Cano/V-Mat/Tex/Beckett/Ortiz/Bay/Pedroia

You have to consider the players' mental condition. Sure Tim Lincecum is amazing, but who knows if he can handle the pressure and the stress of a playoff series. It'd be something brand new to him. Remember he sorta struggled in the first inning of the ASG? That was all nerves. I'm not saying the Phillies will ABSOLUTELY sweep the Giants, but I'm talking from experience of being a Cubs fan. Players, and teams choke when the playoffs come, it happens.

Lincecum didn't have his normal stuff at the ASG. He barely clocked 90mph on the radar. Its either the radar that has a problem or something else. Remember, he faced All-Stars and the error costed him 1 run. Yes, I watched the Cubs play last year. The entire momentum changed when Loney or someone that hit the Grandslam off Dempster. The Cubs didn't play like the Cubs they were during the regular season. Soriano struggled dispite all that playoff experience with the Yankees. I don't see how the Phillies pitching staff are that dangerous. Lee is like the only good guy. Hamels is not Hamels of last year. Still recovering from his injury. Pedro didn't pitch for a long time and he is a risk like Smoltz, who didn't turn out that well. Moyer is crap. I saw Blanton pitch today. He pitched very well today. If Werth had made the throw to home, Roward would not have ran, but still. I don't like their Bullpen as they do not have reliable guys/closers. Happ had success in the rotation and might not do the same in the pen, you never know. There is Eyre, but he is a lefty and Madson. Lidge is horrible this year. Did you see him load the bases against the Cubs during one of the series. Nevermind.

I still say Phillies beat the Giants, whether they sweep 'em or not. Lincecum and Cain are dominant, then who do they have? Zito and Sanchez?

The cubs have a good enough team now to have hope for but the cardinals are nasty

that would be a great series with the giants and phillies:
Game 1: Tim Lincecum vs Cliff Lee
Game 2: Matt Cain vs Cole Hamels

Let's hope you didn't just jinx that.

But could we possible see THREE no-no's this season?! And all within like a month of each other.
