Yes.
If Howard was fast, we wouldn't expect him to hit 45-50 homers every year now, would we?

We'd probably expect more like 30. Unless he was some Rickey Henderson-esque base stealer.

Are you guys listening to me? I agree. Why are you still trying to convince me. I don't know what you mean Lance, because I'm agreeing with them right now. I don't know if that's an insult or compliment. I think you guys misundestood me compleatly. I wasn't talking about Howard in terms of good players, just in general. He is practically undisbutably a one-dimensional player, but that doesn't mean he's bad.

I'm pretty sure defense and hitting are too dimensions, but i could be wrong...

He actually lost something like 25+ pounds in the off-season. i think Prince Fielder was the one who ate them...

I might investigate that.

You can definitely tell Howard lost a lot of weight. His defense has improved a bit as well, after working with Sam Perlozzo during the offseason.

They're called "5-tool players", not 4 dimensional players. :)
As far as I'm concerned, Howard has 2 tools:
hit for average and hit for power.
He sure as heck doesn't have speed, arm strength isn't that good (as far as I know, i don't really know), and defense, despite this season, isn't exactly that of Fat Albert's.

Howard hit .250 last year. .268 the yer before that. He's hitting .263 this year. That's not really contact hitting.....

Thought his MVP campaign was better... It probably was, but still.
That means he's basically a 1-trick pony (but not like a Willy Taveras 1-trick pony  eww.)

:P (that's intended to be sticking my tongue out in disgust.) gross.
Okay:
Arm: FIRST BASEMEN! He doesn't need arm strength!
Speed: We all know the big man can't run. Get over it.
Power: Need i say anything
Fielding: His fielding has gotten pretty good, c'mon, give him some credit, he worked hard on hit.
Contact: Yeah, he might strike out 200 times, but he might hit 55 homers. If he cuts down a little, it would be great.

At least his fielding is better than most 1st basemen like Jason Giambi.
