That's not true. There are plenty of fans who don't. Yes thre majority don't kike them, but there are many who do root for them. There are plenty of guys to root for, like Swish, Joba, Moe, Jeet, Melky, Petite, Johnny D, and Cano to name a few. I judge teams by how likable the make up of a team is. Hence I like the Rays, despite being compeititors, because I love the type of speed-defense team where there isn't one real star, but everyone contributes. The Yankees so far have been like that. They've been one of the top defense teams, has above average speed, and have really been a good team team. Everyone's been hitting, and there's been a new hero every night. True there are stars like A-Rod and Tex, but 1-9, eveyrone contributes. They have all these funny traditions they have, like the passing of the belt (AJ Burnetts kids gave Johnny Damon a toy belt as a gift, so every day, the player of the game wears the belt). They have the cream pies by Burnett for walk-offs, the bracelett Gardner got rom hitting a home-run for that girl, ect. It's nice, little things like this that make wathching a team like this fun. I would like the Yankees even as a fan of another (non AL east of course) team.

Yeah, Beltran is incredibly underrated (I say crap like that a lot, but you can't really argue this point)
and if you guys want career years, look how Mark Reynolds is doing so far. 10 SBs?

And guess whose fantasy team he's on!!!!

The Yankees made a big mistake not signing Beltran. Does Johnny Damon really look that great now?

Well you're certainly inclined to your own opinion but I've never met any non-yankees fan that liked them.

What, and your team dosn't pay Howard $50,000,000+ just to hit HRs. He's only a hitter. It's not like he's a five tool guy.

He can do a hell of a lot more than hit homers! His defense has been amazing this year. He had NO ERRORS until last night! How many yankees can say that, huh?! Howard earns his keep, and he's not on ROIDS! (so his testes are normal-sized) He doesn't cheat, and he's a hard-worker.

Mark Texiera. Haha, I have no problem with Howard, he's a top 5 first basemen and one of the best power hitters in the game, if not the only. Outside of his defense, he's a one dimensional player. But he's so good at what he does that he's still a top player and an all-star. And Damon is a good solid player. All those mistakes made were actually when Steinbrenner was fading in the backround do to old age, and there was a bit of a power struggle. Since Cashman has established himself and gained full power like he should and all other GMs have, the Yankees have been much better off. Damon has been a good solid player. Anyway, I don't view it as me against everyone else. There are plenty of people who view the Yankees favorably. Most don't, but there are some who root for them. I'm certain, because in my experince, it's like 40% of non-yanks fans like them.

Outside of defense and power hitting what more does he have to do to be a good player in your eyes?

Howard is a good player. Contact and clutch hitting are more important to me. Taking pitches is huge for the team, if everyone does it, you really wear down the stating pitching and get to the bullpen fast. With many teams, when you get there early, you've already won the game. Speed is nice to. Doing the little things like bunting, sac flies, ect., is nice to have in the mix as well. I still think Howard is a fantastic player, just one dimensional.

I just think it's the Yankee's history of winning and arrogance and always being the bad guys when my dad and I watch classic baseball. That may just be my dad speaking through me, but growing up in Cincinnati I've always loved the Reds. I just dislike the Yankees, but not as much as the Red Sox and the A's

I wouldn't say they have a history of arrogance (except Randy Johnson and some of the "Bronx Zoo", or being the bad guy. Well, at least not the arrogance haha, from other perspectives, they might me.

HOWARDS not supposed to do those little things, how often do you see Youk and A-Rod, and Pena lay down a bunt to advance runners? They don't they are supposed to drive them home with home runs and doubles. Bunting and sac flies is what second basemen do, they are supposed to hit for average and advance runners. However not all of them do that.

Also, First Basemen don't have to be fast. How many fast first basemen are their? Pujols, Youk, Ortiz, Berkman, Jacobs, Pena, aren't basestealers some of them can get maybe 10 or so but that's not a speedster.

If they were speedier then they would be playing a different position.

Randy Johnson is a good pitcher, but he wasn't a really good match for the yankees. He's a better west coast pitcher.

What? I'm talking about the 70s Yanks, nicknamed the Bronx Zoo. And why are you guys arguing with me on Howard!
