In 07 Carlos Zambrano had D power, in 08 he had E. In both years his contact wasn't great.
I don't get the power drop?

Because of their release dates, the games were based on the previous year's stats, right? He hit 6 HR in 2006 but only 2 in 2007.

They probably base it off plate appearances to some degree.

Yes, I agree.

I didn't explain myself properly. I used Zambrano's HR totals in my explanation, but I should have used his slugging percentage instead since he played a full season in both 2006 and 2007.

A-Rod should still has A power, though he doesn't have the benefit of a full season. Out of his 10 hits since coming back from the DL, a whopping 7 have been home runs. His slugging percentage is excellent.

I wonder: Since A-Rod missed April I wonder that if the Yankees make the playoffs instead of it being October for him where he sucks, maybe his mind will think it's September and he'll hit well.
