Bucs send down Matt Capps, call up Great Bennet

Matt Capps, a veteran of the season for the post season-hopeful Bucs has been sent do twn to Triple-A. Capps has had an ERA of 7.53 in thirty-eight games, one of the highest on the team. He's also blown more games than he's won or saved. Replacing him on the Bucs roster will be Great Bennett, a guy who's been tearing it up in Triple-A, striking out fourty-five in six games. He also has an ERA of 3.72 in A ball, so look for him at the next Pirates' outing!

Pirates @ Chicago Cubs

We're live at Wrigley Field where the Pittsburg Pirates will be taking on the Chicago Cubs in a three game series. The Cubs are last in the NL Central, but are hoping to come away with a victory against the second place Bucs. Felix Hernandez will be taking the mound for the Pirates, and Carlos Zambrano will do the same for the struggling Cubs. It's expected to be a showdown between two powerful offenses, so don't blink, or you might miss a big play!

Pirates win, Bennett gets first save of career

This game wasn't anything spectacular. It was just good ball playing from the Pirates. They were able to score two in the first off of McLouth's two run shot, scoring Ross and himself. After that, the Pirates offense was quiet until the eighth and ninth when it put together a combined five runs.

Though, the Cubs were also good. King Felix had a no hitter going against them until the third when he gave a up homerun. He was later pulled from the game for reliever Joba Chamberlain who walked away with the victory. After Joba was pulled in the ninth, Bennett came into close the game, giving up two runs and a homer to "Big Hurt" Thomas. He walked away with the save, however.

Great Bennett was crowned player of the game for walking away with the save.

Pirates increase winning streak to eleven games, sweep Cubs. Tied for second with Brewers

The Pirates now have an eleven game winning streak as they go to Chase Field and begin a series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. They're the favorites to win, especially with their hot bats. Meanwhile, they're tied with the Brewers for second place in the NL Central with a record of 62-50. They're five and a half games out of first.

Pirates sweep Arizona; prepare to face Bay & Phillies!

The Pirates will be facing a team they've made some deals with today. That's right, the Phillies. Before Spring Training, Grady Little sent Jason Bay over to the Phillies for ace Cole Hamels, who've they since traded. However, on the bright side, the Pirates have a better record than the Phillies and have Cody Ross starting in left field who is doing better than Bay.

On the mound, the Pirates will face draft pick Jorge Echevarri. Varri has been shaky all of this year, allowing twenty-runs in five appearances. That total is expected to go up, dramatically. On the mound for the Bucs, we have King Felix. Felix is the third starter on this Pirates' rotation and is expected to walk away with the victory...

In the field, we have a defensive change for the Pirates. Dan Uggla will start at short instead of Robinson Cano. Cano will be moved to second. Speaking of second, Dan Uggla is second in the majors for homeruns. He's one behind Carlos Delgado of the Mets who has thirty-two.

Anyway, it is time to announce the Phillies starting lineup:

1. Jimmy Rollins - SS
2. Shane Victorino - CF
3. Chase Utley - 2B
4. Ryan Howard - 1B
5. Jason Bay - LF
6. Pedro Feliz - 3B
7. Carlos Ruiz - C
8. Jayson Werth - RF
9. Jorge Echevarri - Pitcher

The Bucs' starting lineup is the following:

1. Cody Ross - LF
2. Nate McLouth - RF
3. David Wright - 1B
4. Dan Uggla - SS
5. Austin Kearns - CF
6. Chris Snyder - C
7. Ryan Zimmerman - 3B
8. Robinson Cano - 2B
9. Felix Hernandez - Pitcher

Let's play ball!

Wright, Uggla go back-to-back!

David Wright and Dan Uggla have hit back-to-back homeruns in the first inning after Cody Ross and Nate McLouth grounded out. Uggla now stands tied for the most homeruns this season, while Wright continues to secure his lead for most RBIs.

This game is... over. Wright, Uggla, Kearns, Snyder, Zimmerman, and Cano have all gone back to back! This is incredible! Six homeruns in one inning! The streak ended as King Felix casually got on base with a single, Cody Ross and McLouth followed. Wright hit his twenty-sixth big fly of the year, which was a grandslam. Bucs are up 10-0 with no end in sight for the Phillies.

This was an incredible game as the Bucs walked away victorious, blasting incredible ten homeruns.

The Bucs were incredible as they blasted ten homeruns, six of which came in the first inning. The Pirates need some water, because they almost have a remarkable fifteen game winning streak. David Wright was named Player of the Game for his grandslam in the first.

Eric O'Flahtery okayed to play; Great Bennett called down for Eric

Reliever Eric O'Flahtery has been given the okay to start relieving games again. Great Bennett has been sent down to make room for him on the roster.

Breaking News: Little Announces New Pirates' GM and Manager

"I had to think this over. This guy is a great friend of mine, so I'm going to give him a shot. And, before the media spins this, he isn't a CFO and he won't embezzle..." Little continued, "My friend, Don Zimmer will be managing my club." Little announced.

Don Zimmer is probably most famous for being thrown flat on his face by Pedro Martinez. However, he's a baseball man, and he should do great things for the Pirates.
