I rarely ever see a passed ball, though.

I seem to see them quite a bit... maybe it's because I paint corners with my pitches all the time...

good block is actually to block the plate from a runner trying to score. I would have to actually try to throw a wild pitch to get it past my catcher.

The autographed ball gives the Groundball Pitcher ability for pitchers - at least it did for Bob Gibson last night :)

Yeah, the Autographed Ball always gives the Groundball P ability.

I've encountered a problem that i've never had before...I usually always become captain ASAP, but i wanted to wait 'till Y3 so I could get some more hot hitting zones.

The thing is, I've gone through a couple of players, and I can't get Becky's nor Sarah's phone number. Sarah takes me to the photo contest, apologizes the next day, but i never see her again. Becky goes "steady" with alvin, but doesn't get dumped. could it possibly be because i'm not captain? i know others have done it though...

man, just when i thought i had things down...I feel if you change the story line a little bit, the whole thing changes.

To get Sarah's number you just go with the flow, as she'll come eventually. Otherwise you should reload.

To get Becky's number I suggest just taking up captaincy in year 2. It is possible otherwise, though, as Alvin may still leave. Don't know why.

Do you or anyone know how to make alvin leave? I'm trying to get Intimidator, but don't want to be captain in Y2 because it's easier to get hot zones that way.

Speaking of hotzones, i don't know if it's necessarily hitting homeruns that gets it. After playing for awhile, I feel it's about getting "Best" contact, along with an extra base hit. The hits are classified in "best" "good" "better", something like that, based on caontact and timing. I've hit accidental homeruns without getting a changein hitting course and vice versa. It seems to place a higher premium on contact and timing.

So any tips on getting alvin to leave? is it just save/reload? or something else? thanks again guys.

The only real surefire way is to become captain, unfortunately. However, sometimes that doesn't work either. Sometimes he will leave by himself, even with Toby as captain. I don't think anyone knows what triggers it. Maybe if you lose the first game, or don't make the team. That happened with my first and worst guy, and Alvin left without me being the captain.

I can't remember 100% what makes alvin leave, but I know it has something to do with getting Bison's bat. I used to get it all the time, and Alvin always left. Now, I never get it, and alvin always stays.

I think there is another thing that triggers alvin leaving - but if you don't get bison's bat, I've never been able to get him to leave, so I think that's the 1st step in a chain. I never try to get alvin to leave anymore, so I can't remember what it was. If I remember, I'll post again, but I do know that Bison's bat seems to dictate which direction you go.

That seems right as several events are triggered by bison's bat. Like getting it done in relief and basically showing off.

Alvin will always leave if you buy the bat off Bison. It doesn't matter if you're captain or not. He'll always wuss out. But there have been times where He stays and dumps Becky anyway. I have no idea what triggers that. That seems to be more random but I have no idea.

As to getting Sarah's #, it always seems to happen randomly for me.

The super romance neck will expedite Sarah showing up more often, and will lead to her number. Your first 6 or so encounters with her are random, so that little advantage helps.

Is there any real benefit to dating Sarah if you're a fielder? I've never really focused on dating her unless I was building a pitcher.
