Eagles absolutly explode in the 9th
well in 9th at the metrodome, down 10-4, the eagles absolutly stunned the twins. They scored 13 runs, yes 13 runs on 13 hits in the 9th, to win 17-10. They homered alot of times in the 9th for their scoring. Thurston, Brady and alcheves all collected 5 hits in this one. And the month is over and alcheves won ROTM(rookie of the month) but batting .374 with 3 homers and 20 rbis, the runner up was probably jackson after he hit 8 homers in the month of june.

Hitting stats as of July 1

CF-Alcheves-340 ABs, 8 homers, 43 Rbis, .305 AVG, 22 SB, 2 CS
SS-Jackson-286 ABs, 13 homers, 51 rbis, .266 AVG
3B-Brady-303 ABs, 11 homers, 41 Rbis, .304 AVG
C-Griffiths-238 ABs, 9 Homers, 36 Rbis, .311 AVG
1B-Quentin-279 ABs, 10 homers, 43 Rbis, .305 AVG
LF-Crosby-194 ABs, 4 Homers, 21 Rbis, .211
2B-Stewart-134 ABs, 1 homer, 17 rbis, .328 AVG
RF-Colarimino-230 ABs, 8 Homers, 33 Rbis, .235 AVG
DH-Fransisco-234 ABs, 6 homers, 41 Rbis, .235 AVG

This is how my players stack up against some leaders in the AL

Zadan, 10th in AL in IP (96.1)
McMillan, 3rd in AL in saves(18 Saves in 20 Opps to go along with a 1.57 ERA)
Hessman, 2nd in AL in holds(11)
Zadan, T-1 in AL(with cliff lee and king felix) in Complete games(3)
Zadan, 8th in AL in ERA(3.83)
Alcheves, 2nd in AL in ABs(380)
Alcheves, 3rd in AL in runs scored(63)
Alcheves, Tied with ellsbury in AL in SB's(22)

So how do you thinks its been guys?

And edit" I have never scored 13 runs in one inning in my life in the history of power pros, and to think I did it with an arrange team too :|

Wow. Just wow. 13 runs in one inning! Hey, I could do maybe 20 runs in an inning and get away with it. Not trying to brag. But hey, you're doin' a great job. This is the best log I've ever seen. Hope you don't forget about it.

I won't forget and.........

All-Star Update
The Eagles had noone that was in the voting for all-star game but Alcheves and closer McMillan made it in through coaches selection. The lineups for the all-star game are:
AL allstars NL allstars

CF-Damon SS-Reyes
SS-Jeter 2B-Utley
3B-Arod 1B-Pujols
1B-Youkilis CF-Holliday
2B-Pedroia LF-Dunn
DH-Giambi DH-C.Jones
C-Mauer 3B-A.Ramirez
RF-Abreu C-Martin
LF-Bay RF-Fukudome
P-K.Escobar P-G.Bennet :?:

(alot of yankess got in and also they have Mussina,Matsui,Rivera and Posada as reserves and whats up with great bennet??He has a 1.77 ERA though but still...)

And in other news the Eagles have aquired Center fielder, brett carroll, from the marlins in exchange for 2B Kata. Kata was batting .218 with 1 homer and 18 rbis but got replaced in the lineup for struggling. Caroll has not played in the majors in 2008

And sorry about the lineups being so close together, but they won't seperate from eachother

nice.
in mlb life, my guy only gets in through coach's selections, so it's not that bad at all.

I did it that way cause I didnt care if people knew that I thought it was terrible and wasn't there a rule that every team must have a player supporting them oon the all-star team because The Smoke didnt have a player on the all-star team

i saw a comic once:
it had the all-star game at yankee stadium.
there was a guy in the stadium who was saying "Cool! They even let the NL West play in this game!"

the giants may come in 4th if they were in the east but they still might need more hitting to win in the west, they need rowand to hit like he did in 07, they need renteria to hit well like hes done in the NL in his career, and they need players like ishikawa and sandoval to hit like they're expected to

Eagles at Indians
Pena Vs Westbrook

This game was a complete back and forth homerun derby as starters Pena and westbrook struggled, Pena came out of the game in the second after giving up 5 runs(he also had the gray face but i thought i'd let him start cause I didnt feel like using a reliever, whoops). Westbrook let up 6 runs in 3.1 innings. The Indians eventually won 15-14 and the game ended with runners on the corners and 1 out, and quentin hit into a DP that ended the game. Four players had multi-homer games as well as a three homer game by brady

W-Julio(2-3)
S-R.Betancourt(25)
L-Minge(1-1)
HR
Sizemore-2(26,27)
Peralta-2(9,10)
Garko-(14)
Shoppach-(10)
Alcheves-2(11,12)
Brady-3(15,16,17)
Crosby-(6)
Fransisco-(9)

Brady Wins Player of the week
Brady wins POTW week for batting .478 with 4 homers and 11 rbis, most of those stats from the huge game in cleveland, he is likely on his way to rookie of he month and has a chance as player of he month, no Eagles player has a monthly award besides rookie of the month since april when McMillan won relief pitcher of the monh

Eagles grab Massett from F/A pool
The eagles have claimed massett from the free agents pool, he was releases by the white sox and has a 5.02 ERA

July 28-Eagles update
The eagles have had somewhat of a comeback month by going 12-9 and scoring 108 runs and allowing 109 runs. They are 52-51, 12 behind the angels in the west and 6 behind the the red sox in the wild-card. The smokes record as of now is 33-70, likely leading to 100 losses. The eagles have tommorows day off and will fly to texas for a three-game series against the Rangers. The trade deadline is soon and the Eagles don't look like they're going to make any big trades but way look for a player for depth like justin ruggiano or robby hammock

July-29 Eagles recall Nixon, send down Castellan
The eagles have brought back Nixon for the bullpen as castellan is posting a 6.64 ERA. Nixon was a starter at the begginning of the season and started well but collapsed and has a 7.42 ERA. Nixon could also work as a starter later this year as James' ERA is 5.35 and has collapsed as well after posting a 1.96 ERA when he came to the eagles

Eagles @ Texas
McDaniel Vs Gabbard
The Eagles won a 11-6 game at texas today, McDaniel tosses 6.1 Innings pitched and allowed 6 runs and massett made his debut which was 2.1 innings of scorless ball and he got the save because the game was close when he came on. Coloromino had a career night and provided the team most of the offense by hitting a grand slam and a 3 run homer to have a 3-5, 2 homer and 7 rbi night. Jackson also hit 2 homers and there were alot of other homers in the game as well

W-McDaniel(7-3)
S-Massett(1)
L-Gabbard(5-10)

AHH I hate playing texas. I just won a 14-16 game over them and they got 4 in the ninth off my closer to tie it but I won anyways. Bradys amazing, he just hit 7 homers in his last 3 games, 3 on the 29th and 4 on the 31st. He won player and rookie of the month by batting .411, 10 homers and 28 rbis. I'm playing Oakland next, its good to finally see good pitching and bad hitting.

O ya and I'm open to responses, I'm gonna post the numbers soon as of now soon

Edit: 100 posts!!!! I never thought I'd get these many posts
