Who do you think have been winners in the offseason.

I have to say the Yankees, Red Sox and maybe the Royals and A's.

Who do you think. I have to leave soon so I can't post reasons.

Red Sox did nothing much. I would say Mets, Yankees, Royals, A's.

Red Sox haven't done anything so far. There have only been 2 teams to make major deals, and that was the Yankees and the Mets. The Yankees definetly have been the most successful with CC and AJ though. The Royals have done a very nice job with making a few, nice small trades. The mets also made a great, brilliant trade for Puts. With so many players and 3 teams, such a trade is very impressive and well orchestrated. Have the A's signed anyone yet? I think they will sign Giambi.

Are you guys mad?!?!?!? The Red Sox have addressed their problems. They traded for bullpen pitchers to allow players like Justin Masterson start. The Red Sox have addressed their problems... Sometimes I feel like I'm one of the few that check everything around the league.

The Red Sox haven't made any big splashes yet. Only the Crisp deal was even noticeable. But I agree with you. They have addressed their problems.

AJ Burnett is a winner. He can sit on the DL and collect his $82.5 million. :D

I forgot about that, that was pretty minor and a long time ago. You really exagerate a lot with somethings in my mind Mario, those were very small things. That certainly doesn't make the nthe biggest winner this off-season. The biggest winners are guys who sign people like Texiera, Manny, CC, AJ, Lowe, or trade for big guys like Santana or Peavy. A small trade like that does not thing when compared to something like signing AJ and CC. The White Sox, the Mets, the Braves, the Royals, the A's, and even the Mariners and Indians have done more so far. The Dodgers have really lucked out so far with Lowe (who their giving up on) and Furcal, but if they get Manny they've had a good off-season. Same with the Angels and Texiera. But the Red Sox really haven't done anything memorable, one is not "mad" for forgetting tiny details like that a month+ later. And masterson probably won't start unless an injury happens, he's probably upset about the trade. Plus, now your stuck with Ellsbury in the play-offs. I know it's too early to say htat a player is a terrible play-off player after one season, but two full series (The Red Sox played the most possible games both times I believe) without a single hit is pretty darn bad.

He went hitless in the ALCS, which he only started 3 games of. Not only did he get hits in the ALDS but he even made history with one of them, ok so that one was terrible hit but it still stands He also did pretty well in 2007 if I remember right.

I don't think Boston need to go for any of the big names this year since I feel we have a strong enough team as it is without any glaring weaknesses. I'd like to get Teixeira as he's one of my favourite players and we could use a slight boost in offence with Manny gone but with Youk and Lowell covering 1st and 3rd I wouldn't be too fussed.

No I agree, the Red Sox are still very well off and would easily have the division if they weren't in the AL East. I just think the Ray's and Yank's have a slight edge, but not too much of one.

Excuse me? Jacoby had an excellent WS in 2007 he just needs to warm up to it, he'll get better. Atleast Ortiz can. Unlike A-Rod.

The Sox haven't made any splashes.

They addressed their problems, you guys [cownip] don't know what an offseason winner is, it's the ones who address their problems, whether it be in the Rule 5 draft (big things there, Yankees lost 6 prospects, Sox lost none, and I think the Twins also lost none aswell) through trades, or Free Agency. It's not who signs the best players. It's who addresses their problems. The Yankees addressed theirs by signing C.C and Burnett, they needed Starters. Whether the Sox's trade were big or not doesn't matter, they addressed their problem and that makes the Sox, Yankees and Royals winners so far. Oh! and the Mets.

Captain, here's what I think. If the Sox do get Tex, Youk will play 3rd, and sadly Lowell might get traded....

OR

Youk and Ortiz switch at 1st while Tex plays DH.

OR

Youk and Lowell switch at 3rd Papi at DH and Tex at 1st.

OR (my fav lol)

Trade Lugo, Make Lowell a SS keep Youk at 3rd Tex at 1st and Ortiz at DH.

I think that Lugo should be traded and then Boston can bring back Orlando Cabrera as a free agent, improving the defense while keeping the offense about the trade. Or Boston can offer Lowell AND Lugo for a shortstop like Jack Wilson or something. That would be cool.

That, that, and that.

A team is better when they go after what they need. I can sign Manny, Tex, and CC, and not address what I need, and ultimately suck.

The Red Sox have made some small changes, but again, they really didn't have much to do and they have been that successful. THey dealth with a small weakness, the Yankees dealed with a giant one. No point arguing because I'm offending you and getting you very angry everytime I disagree with you. I think you assume theres a lot more menace and sarcasm to everything I say thenthere actually is.
