Holliday might go to Phillies as LF? I doubt boston would want Pudge. 1st His old 2nd They need him to be able to catch a knuckleball. Wakefield resigned with them. 3rd.....erm running out of reasons...his a ex-yankee (just joking, bad reason)

1) Sox don't care how old they are if he can last them 1-2 years, it gives the C prospects plenty of time to develop.
2) We still have Kevin Cash to catch the Knuckler
3) Erm.... That was a bad reason.

Kevin Cash isnt offensively strong enough to even hit at 9th. Yes, 1-2 years, but they dont have any prospects for catcher that i know off. Yes i agree 3 was a bad reason, but i had to come up with something random and funny. Bleh who am i kidding that wasnt funny.

It was funny mate, you don't need to be so critical Mario. Anyway, Mussina would be 39 or 40 next year. If he did come back, he'd probably want a 2-3 year contact, the Yanks probably wouldn't want to give it to him, its too risky. Finally, from everything Mussina has said, it seems very unlikely e'll be coming back. Therefore, I just don't see it happening, and Petitte is still an incredible pitcher (not last year, but historically he has certainly been). Mussina by the way now has the record more most 10+ win seasons in a row (I think its 14/15).

How is that being critical? Sometimes you need to keep your comments to yourself, that wasn't being critical.

I know they don't have any notables, but they have a lot of catchers, I don't think Dusty Brown or George Kottoras can start next year. Cash doesn't need great offense (Varitek didn't have it) but Varitek had great leadership on and off the field, Cash doesn't nor does he have a good arm, so I don't want him starting, maybe we could get Mirabelli back... Of course the Yankees may sign him just to keep him away from us, again. Funny story actaully, we had traded Mirabelli, Bard wasn't catching the Knuckler well, Wakefield was pitching so they traded Bard for Mirabelli and flew him over right away, the Yankees admitted to trying to trade for him just to keep him away from the Red Sox.

Maybe we wil get lucky and one of the Triple A C will have a career year.

The problem for the red sox is losing their captain. Now who are they going to turn to for leadership? I know mabye they could resign Manny and trade Jason Bay for Joe Mauer. lol that is retarded. But seriously, the red sox need a catcher that can lead them can hit well (.250ish) good arm, leadership and able to catch a knuckleball. I think only Pudge could do that and they will be in trouble again in a few years if their prospects don't develop.

They already have someone to catch the Knuckler, Kevin Cash.

His fielding isnt top notch, btw Wakefield might be gone next year so they might not need cash anymore. They need a real catcher from their prospects.

I thought you liked the Rays? And about my comment, eh, never mind, I don't want to start another conversation/argument between the two of us as it takes over the whole thread and neither of us can keep our mouth shut. We both are too stuburn haha (if you want to reply, pm me instead please, but no promises on responding).
I don't know if Pudge would want to be on the Red Sox. Their are tons of teams that might take him, to list a few:
Yankees
Red Sox
Mets would as much as the Sox
Outside chance for the Tigers

They might need him this year, and his job is to just catch the knuckler, nothing else.

Where did you hear it from....AS a yankee fan, CC must go to yankee's and Texeria shall go and now they have the most rotation and lineup and win the world series...who agrees with me?
