I won't edit a lot of them but I edited several players whose real-life ability is drastically different from their ability in MLBPP2008. For example, the Blue Jays' John McDonald has an "F" defensive rating in the game but anyone who ever saw him play know he's one of the best defensive shortstops in the Majors. Evan Longoria, among others, is also quite underrated (E or D for contact, F for defense). Also, most of the rookies or players with very little MLB experience have E and F ratings across the board so I tend to edit those to match their actual ability.

I edited Mike DelFice (sp.) to Barry Bonds (I have no idea why he isn't even in the game) and gave him some reasonable stats like hot head and walk :P

Don't think i mentioned this earleir, but i changed certain guys into true utilties, liek the really are. BIG pet peeve of mine with the game. If konami and 2k want me to even consider 09, they are gonna need to add/change the players to these. Only 2 i can thing of at the moment: Chone Figgins (everywhere but 1st and catcher) and Eric Bruntlett
(phillies, everywhere but catcher). Any others, let me know

one player i had fun editing was cristian guzman, the lone all-star for the nats.

guzman in 2008:
-should have his contact bumped up from a D to C or low B (.316 in '08, 4th best avg in the NL, .328 in '07)
-change F arm strength to B (scouting report states he "has decent range and a huge arm at short")
-vs lefty from 3 up to 4 (.354 vs lefties in '08 and .357 in '07)
-added hot hitter (scouting report states "can get hot w/ the bat" and hit for the cycle august 28)
-deleted timely whiff (56k's in 579 ABs)
-possibly changing his 3B fielding ability to D (according to wiki, "He ended up playing third base in the All-Star Game, and made some crucial fielding plays at that position, even though he had previously only played shortstop as a major leaguer.")

hey the nats' lineup deserve the stats update! also joakim soria's stats and abilities need a big boost, he's been dominating hitters since the start of the '07 season

The Majority of the Rays and improving them way too much, boson being improved because there was no yankee competition, Yankees being tweaked both good and bad to make it more accurate (joba improved, Jeter fielding improved, mussina lowered (bad year in 07, not 08), you get the idea. I improved a few guys and competers to make things more interesting (realistic improvements, its more so I looked for innacuricies and corrected them on these teams but left mistakes that made guys better alone).

I gave Brad Lidge a vertical slider (the one he buries and Ruiz blocks) and made him a closer.

I recently:

- Dropped Varitek down to an F in batting, C in power, and gave him the good catcher ability.
- Casey down to an F in batting (65).
- Gave Pedroia [contact hitter] and [tough out].
- Dropped Lowell down to a D in batting and gave him [durability 2].
- Jacked Youkilis up to a high C in contact, gave him about 13 more power, and made him stronger at 3B.

Rays needed a lot of jacking up.

Any idea what the deal is with Howell? I haven't seen much of him but he seems to be topping out in the high 80s yet he K'd 92 in 89.2 innings this year? What am I missing about him?
