I think that Cliff Lee has the AL CY Young won, unless K-Rod can pull something off. The NL is interesting. Brandon Webb is currently in a slump. You have Tim Lincicum and CC Sabatitia winning alot of games. Tim Lincicum is leading in ERA and SO, CC has the most complete games of all of them and has a perfect record and 1.5 (?) ERA. Brandon Webb is interesting. He is obviously leading the race in wins, but his ERA and SO is not as great as the other 2. For SO, it is not his fault that the power sinker results in groundball outs. However, when he wins, he gives up 2-4 runs. Therefore his ERA is not as good as the other 2. I think that Brandon Webb might win it if he wins a couple more games, but i really want Tim Lincicum to win. He deserves it, great kid, good SO, ERA and wins.

Cliff Lee is the one I want to see in the AL, just because he was playing in the AAA last year....
And I think that Tim Lincecum deserves it in the NL.....he has a great era..and he is very close to Webb in wins.....and since Webb has been "off" the last few games....Tim could win it...

Tim is 3 games off Webb. Not that close in wins, but has a great difference in SO. Mabye will be the case of 07 when CC had more SO than Beckett, 1 win off, slightly lower ERA.

ERA matters the most because wins you can't control (your team does) and strike-outs is a style of pitiching,

So how do they decide who wins. I mean what do they look at. Wins ERA SO?

No, he wouldn't get comeback player of the year because he was never good before this year. You have to have a good established career, have a terrible year, and come back with a great one. Moose has done this.

What about John Danks....in 2007 he was 6-13 with a 5.50 era.....
But this year he is 10-8 already and an era of only 3.32....(which is lower than Mussina's)
And Danks is on a team who can make the playoffs......

Mussina for comeback?

Yes, but Mussina is 17-7 and his ERA is higer by 3 points last time I checked. Danks has never established himself while Mussina is a very possible Hall-Of-Famer. This year will help his chances immensley. He is by far the best pitcher to never have 20 wins (hopefully this year, he has 4 more starts) and has 6 1-hitters.

I don't think he will reach 20, mabye 19? I think mussina will get comeback award since he had a horrible year in 07
