What a fun series! If it wasn't for a few key performances, such as Castellanos hustling out a grounder to the pitcher to set up Avila's walkoff in Game 1 and Avila's HR in Game 3, we would've lost 2 of 3 in that series. Another positve: Miggy extended his hitting streak to 21 games, and Sanchez's 15 K performance. We're playing good ball right now, and hopefully we can keep it up.

Well, that series could've gone better. At least we took one game of this series, but Miggy's hitting streak is gone. :( Ah well, next series is a 3-gamer in Cleveland, so it's time to focus on that.

Good sweep. I like it. Even though we're, what, 13th in the AL in HRs? I mean, I'd like to see more dingers, but right now, the way we're playing, I'll take it.

Yet again, a 2-of-3 set against another baseball team. And now, we're halfway through the season, and we're not looking too shabby, just getting our 50th win. Our next series is a 3-gamer at home against Oakland, and that series will end the month, as well. The monthly recap will then come after that series. Stay tuned!

Once again, a good series for us against the A's. Good news is that Andy Dirks is back, Jose Iglesias may be back in 2 or 3 weeks (plus rehab assignment, but , I'm not sure), and our draft picks have been doing reasonably well (Moreno's batting over .500 in 17 ABs so far, but is out 4 weeks with an oblique strain. :( ). Things are looking up heading into July, plus the International FA period is opening, so there's a good chance to get some good raw prospects, as well!

Next post: June+2-days-of-July Recap.

Taking 3 of 4 from the Wild Card leader? Not bad. We'll take it. We got an off day next, and then we'll face the Dodgers for 2 games at our place, then move on to Kansas City for the last series of the first half. Should be fun.

Dombrowski scouts him as .5*/.5*, while OSA has him projected higher, at .5*/4.5*. I think what attracted me to him were 6 average pitches in the 35-45 (on a 100-point scale, again) range.

Meh...a split isn't that bad, but it's not good either. That's the point of a split, right?

Also, Torii Hunter PM'd me asking for a contract extension. I might need your help on this. He's about to be 39 years old, he's slashing .274/.337/.413 with 8 HR and 39 RBI. His defense has been OK, but could be better. Should I offer an extension, and if I should, how much? His initial offer is 4-yr/$80M (lol).

So, we head to the All-Star Break winning 3 of 4 from KC, Miggy hitting 3 bombs in the series, and technically in 1st place in the AL in HR (since Mike Napoli and his 22 HRs were traded to the Nats), and looking more and more like a Triple Crown threat. Hopefully the second half will be as kind to us as the first half was.

My next question is: since it's the All-Star game, would you all like to see the rosters? I can put them in a separate post if so.
