SP Brandon McCarthy agreed to rework his massive contract. Each year’s salary was reduced from $17.7 million to just $10 million, but a no-trade clause and several bonuses were added to the language in the contract.
Minor-leaguer Russell Wilson plans to retire from football following Super Bowl 50. He is currently on the restricted list at Quad Cities (A).
RF Shane Victorino signed a 3-year extension worth a total of $29 million. Victorino’s salary starts at $12M next year, but declines to 10 and 7 million the final two years of the deal.

Editor. Did similar things with several others to try and free up some cap room. It worked
