Reyes for Car-Go is not fair at all, voted to veto.

Why?

I understand that you need an outfielder cause you've been *(censored)* up by injuries but Jose Reyes is not to the calibre that Gonzalez is.




In my opinion.

It's all about needs.

I have been *(censored)* over by injuries to my outfield to the point where I don't even have five starters. Mac has stud outfielders to spare, and the loss won't hurt much considering he also has Ellsbury, the other CarGo, and Kemp.

Mac needs a shortstop. Cabrera has been disappointing, and he has no backup. Shortstop is a weak position, and quality talent is hard to come by. Since I already have Andrus, Reyes (who was a fourth round talent) is expendable.

These are both stud players, both of whom's main concern is just staying healthy, which kinda cancels out. I have a feeling that most people just perceive Reyes as being worse than he is. Over the last 15 days, he's been the third best SS, behind just Tulo and Gordon.

And for what it's worth, I asked Mac for Lester, Cole, or CarGo in return for Reyes. CarGo was his choice.

Maybe, but he needs pitching too. Getting value is great, but further depleting an already weak area isn't necessarily the best idea.

It would be like the Orioles attempting to trade for, say, Altuve. Do you give up Adam Jones, a more valuable player at a deeper position, or do you give up Tillman, a less valuable player at an already weak position? Needs vs. Value

That may be a bad example, but it's the same theory.

So if you guys are opposed to the trade so much, why don't you give me some "critiques"? Give me some ways to make this deal much more "fair".

Well, I don't know how many tips I can give to make it fair, but Jose Reyes is such a wild card at this point in his career when it comes to health. Add the fact that he's a bit inconsistent at the plate nowadays when he is healthy, he's not worth much in trades.

Don't know a player that could it make it a better trade, but the fact Reyes was involved was probably why the members vetoed the trade.

But Reyes was the whole point of the trade. Mac wanted an upgrade at SS, and Reyes is that. Reyes is an injury risk, but so is CarGo. Reyes has been a top three SS over the past 15 days, and he has seemingly put his hamstring injury behind him. And that's even with his terrible average, which is due to his .213 BABIP, compared to his .310 career norm. Reyes is an elite player at a very shallow position on a very good offensive team. And yet, people perceive his value as being mediocre at best.

I don't think his value is that low, he's a star player but I don't think he's to the level of carlos gonzalez.

On another topic, any ideas for my team? I seriously cannot see anywhere I can improve, and that my guys are just under performing, I mean, I could use some homeruns, but that's all I see.
