Not really, I could believe that beacause he may have had movie star looks, that gives you a good boost, and he won the world series and made all-stars and he got invited to the santa thing and those get you good things. He may have gotten invited to an autograph alley.

i was named world series mvp, regular season mvp, made the all star game, was voted player of the month twice, player of the week 7 times, and got to sign autographs and did the santa thing, but i only got 80,000 fans, even w/o good looks, thats not good.

I'm in like my 8th year (30 years old) and have just under 1mil fans.

I hit 1 million fans in my 8th year (2015), and that's with my team having won the WS 6 consecutive years and having individually won a couple of AS MVPs, 4 WS MVPs, 3 league MVPs (to that point, I won my 4th later that year), and tons of Player of the Week and Player of the Month awards. If I remember right I only had ~30,000 fans at the beginning of year 1. I'm sure it's possible to gain fans faster, but I'm not sure that 325K in year 2 is possible unless you were doing Dream Player mode (taking on the life of an existing major leaguer). I'd be interested in a screenie of that as well.

Do fans do anything besides improve your chances of being an All-Star?

if the star ability says anything, then the number of fans might affect whether you get traded, because nobody likes it when a fan favorite is traded.

I think it says in the manual that the more fans you have the less likely it would be that you will be traded.
