I decided to stay back. I hadn't seen anyone bunt for a base hit all year, and I assumed this would be no different. Sam Decker wound up and threw. The batter squared to bunt late.

Damn it.

I charged quickly and attempted to barehand the ball, but I missed. The runner got to first safely and came around to score after a sacrifice bunt and a single from the 3-hitter.

I went 0-4 with a strikeout, and we lost 1-0.

I checked the lineup to find myself on the bench. Scott was in at DH, starting just his third game of the year. We won the game 6-3, and Scott got three hits.

I was still pretty awake after the game, since I hadn't played.

It was the start of the 10th inning of our rubber match against the Tigers, the score tied at 5. I was 1 for 3 with a run scored and a walk. I stepped into the box, going up against a guy with a mid-80's fastball and an okay curve. He was clearly one of the low-end relievers on the team.
