I've been the starting CF for Yankees since 2008. I currently am in April of 2010 with a brand new 1 year 30 mil contract. I took every award in 2008 and 2009 including Fielding. In 2010, the Yanks got Torii Hunter who promptly took my CF position. I ended up becoming the starting catcher for the Yankees.

I am HATING this decison because
a. I was doing so well in CF and even winning the Fielding Award in 2008 and 2009
b. I am always substituted near the 7th inning every game which means I lose at LEAST 162 at bats a year.

I've lost almost all will to play this char, but he's nearly perfect in stats. Can anyone give any suggestions as to what I can do?

Maybe Yankees management will move you into the starting rotation... blow your arm out... then put you back to where you were a dominant player???

I've been through the same thing with my 3B. I'm affraid you may be stuck in this situation for the rest of your career. For my guy it started about 4 years ago with the Astros and no matter what team I went to, no matter how bad their 3B was or how good their catcher was, I'd start at catcher.

The management is one thing I would change. There should be an interaction with the coach or manager to complain about not playing your position. There should also be a convert to another position option like there is in Season Mode. If they make you start at catcher, you should at least be able to make it your second position and increase your letter grade there. It's annoying getting pulled late in games because you're letter grade is a G at catcher yet you're the best player on the team.

yeah, i think a more in-depth manager/coach meeting system would have been awesome, or an option to request a trade in a meeting with your agent.

What would work better is the ability to sign a no-trade clause and if you have one, you can disucss trades as they have to ask your approval to be traded.

I also think draft pick should develop better. Most of them stay with crappy stats and never really improve. It would be interesting to have a draft pick turn into a superstar. The game gets too easy when most of the pitchers are draft picks with F control throwing 85 with one or two level 2 pitches.
