F/C/F/D/F/D. Decent power, he might be a bench bat for somebody - probably not me.

Things are about to get really interesting here.

Posting Game 4 soon, that's the last game as I have simmed all of September and am at the postseason. While going through September, a lot of records are broken (or close to broken), there's Players of the Week/Month, streaks, individual title race updates, and more. After that there's the ALDS with a mystery opponent.

Hope you guys are enjoying this.

(95-40) Eagles vs Orioles (51-84): Game 4

We were in for an afternoon of baseball in Game 4 and the score was close yet again. The rookies came out ready to get their second consecutive win as a group and they did just that. Jack Ryan drove in his first run of the year in the 3rd inning, scoring Camacaro. Cole Stewart was on the mound after saving the game in Game 3, and tossed 5 1/3 shutout innings before handing the ball over to recent callup John Axford (who picked up the hold). Janssen completed the game, collecting his first save of the season. Miguel Gonzalez lost due to some hard luck - he was chased by the 7th despite yielding one run on 7 hits; he's at the bottom of the MLB with 13 losses and only 1 win.

Player of the Game: J.Ryan - Only RBI in 1-0 win + Janssen - Got the SV with 1-run lead

Final Score:
Orioles: 0
Eagles: 1

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Aug. 27 to Sep. 2)

Who's the most valuable players to kick off September? Did any upstarts from the minors show off for their teams? Here we go - Players of the Week from August 27th to September 2nd.

Atlanta's Mike Napoli (.542/1/5) and Miami's Matt Holliday (.435/2/9) represented the senior circuit with good efforts in the past week.

ImageImage

On the other hand, it was Seattle catcher Jesus Montero (.500/2/11) and the Bronx Bombers' stalwart Mark Teixeira (.467/4/9) who did well in the American League.

ImageImage

That is all, tune in next week for more on the MLB's best.

Individual Title Races - AL

Image

The races to be honored with awards for impressive feats of ability are heating up! There were many standouts among the majors and some titles are all but wrapped up, yet others are still being fought over, maybe to the end. There will be constant updates in here and the NL as the season winds down, but it's time for a check-in.

*A new addition, this will describe any spell of the season that I feel doesn't need too much detail or isn't as important to warrant a full summary. That said, here we go.

NJ Eagles Update

Image

The Eagles' next series, against Cleveland, was set in motion on the 3rd. We won game 1, 4-3, and then were victorious in Game 2 at a score of 5-2. With another win on the 5th (6-3 over the Indians), the Eagles clinched the AL East division - their record was 98-40 and they were up 26 games on the 72-66 New York Yankees. While getting in the win column they also extended their streak of Ws to 5 games. Their pitching also highlighted some of the Individual Title races in the American League.

NJ Eagles Update

Image

September 6 resulted in a 8-4 win over the O's. Felix Hernandez then tied the record for #2 among active starters for wins in a season. He picked up win 19 in the team's 100th win and was tied with Jered Weaver (Dodgers), Justin Verlander (Tigers), and Tim Lincecum (Giants) who all share 19 wins, for second place (teammate Cliff Lee leads with 20). After a 9/7 win, 3-2 vs the Orioles, Cliff Lee rose up to the 8 spot among active pitchers for innings thrown in a season. He's tossed 196 and 2/3 for NJ this year while King Felix currently is in the lead - he was a workhorse at 215.2 innings for Seattle in 2012. The next two days, New Jersey beat Baltimore 9-6 and 5-0.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK (Sep. 3 to Sep. 9)

We chug on in September and as usual there's some important contributors for their clubs. It's especially of note now that we're down the stretch before the postseason. Time to see who's been remarkable in this second week of September.

New Jersey lefty Andrew Brooks was dominant, collecting two wins with 17 Ks while amassing a 1.20 earned run average in the process. Fellow hurler Yu Darvish was similar, although all the way across the country with the Texas Rangers - 11 strikeouts, a win, and 0 runs allowed.

Image

Big Papi's transition to the National League has been smooth. With Houston, he's out of the DH role and is back to work in the field, yet his batting prowess remains the same - .517/2/15 in as many games. A much younger fellow first baseman Matt Hague has surely turned some heads in the Pirates organization with a .500 average, 2 dingers, and 5 RBIs.

ImageImage

Who will step up next week - we're on the road to October and players are chomping at the bit to make their presence felt. Stay with us.
