Hornets win! Hornets win! The latest expected news occurs, the New Orleans Hornets have won their 7th consecutive game, grasping more and more onto that division lead, the Hornets had a 2 run lead until the 5th, when they gave up 7 runs, that proved to be no problem as they scored continually to tie it up, and then win on a walkoff by Adam Jones.

Record: 33-14.
1st in NL Central.
Won series 3-0.

The Hornets have won again! This time it's their eight consecutive, SP Villacis pitched the last game but insisted on starting and only lasted 5 innings before handing the ball to Suarez who won the game due to a walkoff hit, by him! He was expected to be pinch hit but manager Clyde McFloyd kept him in the game.

Hornets sign amateur free agent, Spark.

The New Orleans Hornets have once again delved past the current free agent market and looked into some of the rookies that deserve a chance, they found the perfect suit, RF Spark (BBEGFG TRJ 4) he has been signed for 1.860 million dollars on a one year contract. As this put them over their max player limit, they have reportedly released 1B Pedroia. Spark will be called up in place of Wesson, he will join the starting lineup. Reggie Willits, who is now fully recovered will also be called up in place of Basner.

Jones hits for cycle in route of Cardinals

Win: Campbell (1-0)
Save: X
Loss: Carpenter (2-2)
HR: Willits (2)
A. Jones (4)

Hornets: 1-0-0-0-1-6-1-1-1
Cardinals: 0-0-0-0-0-0-1-0-1

Final Score:

Hornets: 11
Cardinals: 2

The Hornets have left the playground after breaking their 2 game losing slide in a route of the Cardinals, as Suarez wasn't completely ready to pitch, Campbell made a spot start and pitched 7 1 run innings getting him his first major league victory, with help from the bats of course, mainly Adam Jones, who hit for the reverse cycle and got another triple on that, most analysts here at NST Sportsnet agree with GM Clyde McFloyd that the trade for Adam was a steal as RP Swann is lying down in AAA. At the bottom of the depth charts. Newly acquired F/A Spark was poor in his debut, going 0-5, he was however, very close to hitting a homerun in his first MLB at-bat, but was robbed of it by Chris Duncan.

Catch the Hornets right here, on NST, tomorrow at 7.

(Villacis made a spot start for Chuck James)
NST Sportsnet
June 3rd, 2013

Hornets lose inaugural inter-league game on 4 run 9th inning given up by Jeroloman

Win: Sowers (1-2)
Save: X
Loss: Jeroloman (1-3)
HR: Medrano (2)

Hornets: 0-0-1-0-1-1-1-0-0
Indians: 0-0-0-0-0-1-0-0-4

Final Score:

Hornets: 4
Indians: 5

On a day when the Hornets just should've won, they didn't. Pitcher Villacis had to make a spot start as Chuck James was in purple condition and couldn't play, he pitched 7 innings giving up only one run to the Cleveland squad, the Indian's starter however, had to work for his time, he gave up 3 runs in 6 innings, while that may not seem like a lot, considering the other dastardly pitching, it was. New closer Jeroloman was called out to complete the game for the Hornets and start the series on a high-note. He let one runner on base by an error by the first baseman, but then the hits kept on coming and coming, all on two outs. We reached Clyde McFloyd on this.

"We thought he was a good choice and still do, everyone has their days and this was one for Jeroloman, we hope it doesn't continue on or we will have to look into the likes of Suarez going back to the bullpen."

Suarez is scheduled to pitch tomorrow, you can catch that here on NST at 12:07PM.

Record: 39-20
1st in NL Central.
Lost series 1-2

Edit: Simulating until the draft, Inglett and Conolly were released.

June 5th to June 9th: 1-3

2008 MLB DRAFT

1st Rounder: Dawley RF (EDEEEE TRJ2) Durability 4
2nd Rounder: Wayne SP (C Stamina, C Control Fork 1, Cut 2 85MPH)

I really like the Wayne guy, never drafted someone with c control.

Wayne will be called up for Truby, Abraham will be called up for Campbell. (LUNDBERG REMAINS, :D) Lundberg will be called up for File, Cueto will be called up for Fernando Hernandez and Clapinski will be called up for Darren O'Day. (Darren's pry going to be shipped to some team for some cash and a loser, if I can get that, that'll happen near the end of June, for now he'll be an injury callup, same with Truby, who only sparkles when he's in red condition. File will be called up for Roney as I realize he's very good and Junge has durability 4 so he probably won't get injured.)

I think we have the best pitching in the league.

Hornets: 0-0-0-0-1-1-5-0-4
Yankees: 0-0-1-0-1-2-0-1-0

Final Score:

Hornets: 11
Yankees: 5

Starting pitcher Lundberg made his first start since returning from AAA and the DL, he pitched 5 innings giving up 2 runs but didn't get the decision, rookie pitcher Wayne did, who made his major league debut, pitching 3 innings giving up 3 runs and earning his first major league win, the bats were also on fire in the late innings as the Hornets combined for a total 4 homers, 2 coming from rookie player Spark Jackson. Abraham and Junge also hit bombs, their 5th and 7th, respectively.

Improvement Notice:

Fiore: KB 1-2
McConnell: SLD 1-2

Record: 42-23
1st in NL Central
Won series 2-1

(Poll is still tied ;-;)

(Junge's throwing arm sucks, I'll be trying to pull in a good defensive catcher at the deadline and put Junge at first until spring training, when I properly make him a first baseman. Not sure where I'll put Joey Votto then, might have to move him, as Junge is first in catcher voting for the NL All-Star team.)

Edit 3: Dawley (our, I think first rounder is coming up for Adam Jones, who will be out for 1 day as he had a hit with the wall. He'll start.)

Question for everyone that's reading. Do you like the whole game recaps? I feel like each one is really repetitive and feels like the last, apart from when I talk about role changes and have interviews of course. So, here's my question, continue with the news recaps like you've seen before, or do something else to show each score? Recommend that to me or I'll just think of something.

I'm so sorry for not updating in a while, I had to go to my basketball tournament in Niagara Falls, (we won silver.)so I couldn't play on my Wii, as a result, I played every single game up to the end of June. I'll put standings, players of the month in this update and then get back on track in July. (I'm not posting all star voting as it would take too long for my tastes, but Junge is 3 million votes above Brian McCann.)

Win: Suarez (9-0)

Hornets: 0-0-0-1-2-0-0-4-0
Cardinals: 0-0-0-1-0-0-2-1-0

Final Score:

Hornets: 7
Cardinals: 4

The Hornets win against the Cardinals, getting their 53rd win of the year, but our bigger concern is, how? No other team in the history of the MLB has made the playoffs in their first year, the closest were the Colorado Rockies and then the closest to win a World Series was the Diamondbacks, trailed by the Marlins, but no one has done either of those things in their inaugural season. Everyone here at NST Sportsnet were given a question, do the Hornets make the playoffs? Here are the results.

NO: 56%
YES: 44%

Well, majority is voting for no, let's see if they do make it now!

It seems this team just can't hold onto a lead recently as the New Orleans Hornets have gone to extra innings for the third consecutive game after they gave up 3 runs in the 6th. For the 2nd time this season, a Hornets player has hit for the cycle. Spark Jackson did it going with a HR, then a double, a single and then the triple which could've gone for an inside the Parker but he stayed at third after being told to stay by third base coach Clyde McFloyd.

On a side note, the Hornets have signed free agent Neagle and Enrique Gonzalez to get even more pitching depth. As this would exceed their maximum roster they have designated Freed and Lombard for assignment, reporters here at NST Sportsnet don't like the deal as Freed and Lombard are decently skilled players, and could be starters on a team anywhere from 1-2 years from now. Of course Enrique and Neagle are fairly good as well.

Neagle: (MPH 82 SLD 2 CUT 2 CB 2)
Enrique Gonzalez: (MPH 95 SLD 2 CB 2 CHG 3)

It is reported Enrique and Neagle have been called up for Scott Baker and Suarez.

Cleveland:
>Rafael Betancourt
>Ryan Garko

New Orleans:

>$1,000,000

It has been confirmed by GM Clyde McFloyd that the New Orleans Hornets have traded catcher Bannister and pitchers Darren O'Day and Scott Baker to the Indians for the players you see on the screen right now. We reached Clyde while he was at Starbucks.

"Man this bagel is good! McDonalds good. Anyways the trade, yes. I like Rafael Betancourt, great control on his pitches and a good repertoire. The other guys were fillers, except Ryan Garko, he has good power and will be a pinch hitter. We're still looking for a good defensive catcher though.

Hornets win, Betancourt new closer?

Win: James (2-2)
Save: R. Betancourt (11)
Loss: R. Hill (2-8)
HR: A. Ramirez (16
Garko (1)

Hornets: 2-0-1-1-0-0-0-0-0
Cubs: 0-0-0-0-1-0-1-0-0

Final Score:

Hornets: 4
Cubs: 2

Hornets win in this game against the lowly Chicago Cubs, Chuck James was given the start and pitched wonderfully, only allowing 1 run over 5 innings, that run being a solo blast by Aramis Ramirez, his 16th of the season, in this game, 2 of the newly acquired talents played, those being Ryan Garko and Rafael Betancourt. Garko hit a solo homerun in the top of the 4th and got 2 more XBH after that while Rafael closed out the game, due to his massive talent and endless variety of pitches it is assumed that again the closer role has changed for his favour. The biggest concern though was that catcher Junge was injured while jumping over the home dugout fence for the ball, he caught it but was taken out of the game after having some breathing troubles, he was inserted into the ER but was deemed okay to play in their next game against Chicago.

Other news for Hornets fans is that Clyde McFloyd has traded catching talent Roney for 27 year old defensive talent Chris Snyder. This move knocks Junge over to first base as he is the top hitter for the New Orleans club and also knocks Abraham and Joey Votto out of a job as Ryan Garko has stolen Votto's position at 3rd after a great performance in his major league debut. Due to the lack of fielders on the big league squad, Chuck James and Boof Bonser have been sent down for C. Snyder and Dawley as they recover from their recent pitching outings. Due to these moves here is the Hornets projected lineup for tonight's game versus the cubs.

NO DH:
1. Willits
2. Spark
3. Junge
4. Garko
5. C. Snyder
6. A. Jones
7. Rolls
8. Lockwood
9. Pitcher

DH:
1. Willits
2. Spark
3. Junge
4. Garko
5. C. Snyder
6. Votto
7. A. Jones
8. Rolls
9. Lockwood

Catch the hornets right here on NST!

(Hmm, what does this mean...? Will Votto and Abraham be traded? Will Rafael Betancourt lose the closing job? Will Scott marry Lucy? Find out next time on Game of Hornets!)

Record: 59-31

Won series 2-1

(Chris Snyder is on a tear lately, he hit 3 homers in the series, all coming within the course of 5 atbats. Ryan Garko is also performing, he hit 2 doubles in the last two games of the series. Suarez also got his first loss of the year, he's 10-1 now ;-; Cy Young maybe? Nah, not enough starts, he's been in triple a for at least a combined 1 1/2 months.

Panther was so close, oh so close as we now show you the highlights from the Hornets game yesterday, and BAMM!!! Another blast by Chris Snyder! He's had 4 since joining the Hornets just a few days back, a contender for Player of The Week. Apart from that the Hornets didn't score many runs, 3 combined in the 2nd and 3rd innings, Scott Kazmir pitched very well but Panther pitched better as he gave up a bloop single in the second, afterwards he issued no walks and no hits. The Hornets go for the series win tomorrow which you can catch on NST 1 as we will be broadcasting the Toronto FC play the Houston Dynamo in some MLS action.

BREAKING NEWS, HORNETS DEAL DENHAM TO BREWERS.

In a breaking story, the New Orleans Hornets have traded AAA fielder Denham to the Milwaukee Brewers for power pitcher Seth McClung. McClung has a 8.31 ERA but that is in just 4 innings this year, Clyde McFloyd thinks that that is just a little flunk and he'll be back on track with the Hornets. This season, Seth has maxed out his fastball at 98MPH, faster than even Johnny Queto's heater. He had something to say on this matter at hands.

"So is he the new set-up guy? With all the managers changes I might have my job at stake!"

We suspect Seth will not be the setup guy but will be a regular relief pitcher, he is being called up for F. Hernandez.

(Well, I can now see why the Brewers were willing to give him up, 7 runs with no outs recorded, at least we won the game.)

Record: 62-31
1st in NL Central
Won series 3-0

Midsummer Classic, next!

But first..

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

AL: Francisco Liriano (1 WIN, 0 SAVES, 0.00 ERA, 11 K'S)
AL: Victor Martinez (.375, 4 HR, 12 RBI)

NL: David Wright (.619, 1 HR, 5 RBI)
NL: James Panther (1 WIN, 0 SAVES, 0.00 ERA, 18 K'S)

(I think Chris Snyder did better than Wright... .471 AVG, 4 HR, 7 RBI)

(Second parentheses note, I probably will play the allstar game assuming I have no homework tomorrow.)

(Third! Oh mah gawd. Suarez was picked by the coaches for the allstar game!)

Hornets trade Abraham to Royals.

The New Orleans Hornets have recently traded infielder Abraham to the Kansas City Royals for SS/2B Angel Sanchez. With this move, it is assumed that he will take over the 2B spot as current second baseman Lockwood is still developing and should use more time in AAA to season. This move clears one of the open roster spots since manager Clyde McFloyd traded Roney for C. Snyder to move Junge to 1B. Joey Votto or Ryan Garko will be packaged out soon if anyone goes. Joey seems like the more expendable player as his stats are low but could go to a losing team for one of their better players.

Hornets GM taking back what he said.

We're back with more talk about the Hornets, it turns out that General Manager Clyde McFloyd would like Joey Votto to stay with the team, and trade Junge elsewhere, we reached him on this via Skype.

"I know Junge has been putting up some very good stats. But don't you need a player like that to trade? Joey Votto will be one of the best players in the league in a few years, heck he might even go for the triple crown! We have C. Snyder at catcher and he'll hold that spot down. But Junge will probably go, I'm sorry to say that to Junge fans everywhere."

Hornets still dealing, trade Grimm to Yanks.

Hornets GM has confirmed that he has traded AAA SP Grimm to the Yankees for RP Joba Chamberlain. Grimm was lying down in AAA and hasn't played a Major League game in a while, Chamberlain however has been the setup man for a while, and although he has an ERA of 5.57, Clyde thinks that he'll do better, same with the McClung deal.

Hornets win in blowout led by

Win: Suarez (12-1)
Save: X
Loss: Nolasco
HR: X

Hornets: 2-1-6-0-7-1-0-3
Marlins: 3-0-0-1-0-0-0-0-5

Final Score:

Hornets: 20
Marlins: 9

The Marlins scored a total of 9 runs in today's game versus the Hornets but that was enough as the New Orleans offense combined for a total of 20 runs largely led by Chris Snyder who went 4-6 with 4 RBI! 2 triples and a homerun away from the cycle. Interesting fact, a total of 5 Hornets would have hit for the cycle if they got a homerun, as no balls were smashed out of the park this day. Newly acquired Angel Sanchez arrived from Kansas City just as everyone started stretching and had to use teammate Lundbergs jersey to play, he made a splash in this game too, going 3-6 with 2 RBI and one homer away from the cycle. Suarez got the win after Wayne walked in 3 runs and left in the first.
