Does this happen with PS3's (that have backward compatibility) too?

I've had this come up, and I think I pressed continue without saving, then cancel or something. I have no idea, but I've had this come up and gotten around it.

My Wii is definitely 1st generation, I got it a couple of months after they were released. I had to send it to Nintendo after 9 months or so to have the optical drive replaced, after it stopped reading disks.

I ran into this issue 2-3 times in 2007 with Success mode saves, and once so far in 2008 with my MLB Life player. In all cases, simply selecting "NO" to deleting the file and then resetting the Wii resolved the issue for me.

I doubt my Wii is failing, but I imagine it does get used more than the average Wii. Between the 5 of us I'd guess it gets used anywhere from 4-12 hours in a typical day.

yeah, a lot of times, when i play madden (08 and 09), i select something and it just freezes, with this loud ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ sound. It pisses me off every time. For some reason its only happened once with MLB Power Pros.

I've had that ZZZZZZZZZZZ sound and my Wii freeze too many times with the last game, but for some reason I've had better luck with 2008.

Madden is the only game that does that to me.

I have Madden '08 but I haven't played in a while, too obsessed with Power Pros....

wii has this new call your shots feature for 09. You can draw your route for receivers at the line of scrimmage preplay.
