So, I've been reading around, and I've seen that a few people have said that the batting stance you choose affects performance. I find it ludicrous that that game would implement that as a factor. Is there any evidence behind this, or is it all just mind related?

I would say its mind related.

For example, I can't bat to save my live with the "special" stance where he bats with one hand. I remember someone saying they were killing with it.

What facet of power pros do you use? Season mode? Life? Personally, I get the most from the postings under the portions of the game I use. These days, season mode is mostly logs, but you can find tips if you search

I don't know if there is a batting that effects my performance, though.

I sure don't have any special ones, so nothing on me.

You know how Gary Sheffield waves his bat in front of the plate? I think a stance like his would make it tougher for me to see the ball and time the swing

The bats are see through though in 2008. When the bat moves into the strike zone the bat becomes transparent.

There are stances that can impede your line of vision as said earlier particularly from 12 onwards in the standard stance where the batter waves the bat around. That does effect my hitting.

I seem to remember performing best with the open stance.

Like I said though, I'm sure its just mental.

I always use normal or open stances for my players. Closed ones make it harder for me to see the ball for some reason and it makes it harder for me to hit for power.
