Yeah I hate it whenever you say walk the catcher to bring up the pitcher, and then the pitcher gets a hit :nonono: ...Of course that doesn't happen in AL, but still...

What I hate is when you get through the killers in the lineup and a dude with E power puts it out. I think in the playoffs last season, in one series an E power guy had a multi homer game against me. Grrrrr!

Back then, they were scrubs. That was around when they were rookies. Votto went on to have a pretty good year in '08 as an all E/F scrub though. :)

I thought he meant grey-barred players.

So, a guy with E power automatically has all E's and F's?

Your logic, it does not seem to exist.

They were using a guy with all E's and F's, and we got talking about how we hate giving up hits to a guy with E's and F's

I think the "scrub" reference is to any player with all Es and Fs. That being said, my "peeve" is when a guy with DE or FE or EF knocks it out of the park after I get past the DB guys. They might not be scrubs - could be solid defenders or really fast, but its annoying.

GAME THREE: Country Grindell (93 EC CU – three, HSK – one, PA – three, CB – three) versus White Sox Beuhrle (90 CA 2SF – two, SL – two, CU – three, CB – three, CH – four)

Lineup: Cust, still in purple condition, has another day off, with Johnson batting out of the DH spot and Harris playing first. The Country made a roster move yesterday, sending down Joe Thurston and recalling Sweeney. They also brought back up Schrager, sending down one of their middle relievers. When asked about the decision to go with an extra fielder, the GM said "we were purposely carrying an extra pitcher in case our starters had trouble making it to the fifth inning, and with Sweeney's ability to play all outfield spots and Towles' and Harris' being able to play almost all infield spots, we were comfortable with that. However, we were finding that with our starters pitching well into the sixth inning, we did not have enough work to keep our relievers sharp. There were also a few times when we might have wanted to use a defensive replacement or a pinch-hitter, but felt shorthanded in the event of an injury, so we wanted the flexibility of having that fourth bench player. As it is, we do still have 12 pitchers on the roster, so it's not like we are short staffed."

Inning one: the White Sox broke through in the first when Jermaine Dye hit an RBI bloop single on a Grindell curveball. The Country tied it up when Fields drove in Milledge, who reached based on a fielders choice and stole second. Singles by Johnson and Harris gave the Country a 2 – 1 lead after one.

Inning two: the White Sox pulled ahead when their number seven hitter led off the inning with a double and the next three batters singled. Thome singled with one out to load the bases and then a wild pitch brought in another run. Grindell worked hard to Konerko, striking him out after going 2 – 0, and when Jermaine dye popped out to the catcher ending the inning, it seemed fortunate that the White Sox only pulled ahead by two runs.

The Country scored almost immediately, as McCurdy had a one-out single and scored all the way from first on a Hudson double, helped by Swisher's poor decision to throw to third base instead of the cut off man. End of two, White Sox lead four – three

Inning three: spot starter O'Connor came in to start the third inning, and retired the side on two strikeouts and a ground out to second. Josh Fields led off the bottom of the inning and jacked a two – one curveball into left field bleachers, tying the game at 4

Inning four: the Country seized the lead in the bottom of the inning when Spilborghs hit a three-run homerun over the left centerfield fence, after McCurdy and Milledge singled. End of four, Country lead seven – four

Inning six: the White Sox went to their middle relievers to start the sixth and the results were not pretty for the Sox, as the Country used singles, doubles, and a sacrifice fly to extend their lead to 11 – 4 and forced the White Sox to dip into their pool of middle relievers again

Inning seven: Jermaine Dye hit a three-run homerun to pull the White Sox to within four. Shawn Green entered the game after that and was shaky but closed out the top half the seventh without allowing any further runs. Singles and a double by Milledge, a run scoring fielders choice from Spilborghs ended the seventh inning with the Country leading 13 – 7

Inning eight: Green quickly recorded the first two outs of the eighth, but then seemed to tire and after giving up a single to Thome after starting him off with two strikes, he was pulled in favor of Chamberlain, who struck out Konerko on three pitches.

Inning nine: when the ninth inning started, Chamberlain was on the mound, Towles had replaced Huisman at short, Sweeney replaced Erdos in left, and Schrager, who entered the prior inning to pinch-hit for Huisman, was at first in place of Brendan Harris. After Chamberlain gave up a leadoff single to Jermaine Dye, he struck out the next two batters before giving up another single, allowing both runners to move into scoring position on a wild pitch, but then struck out the next batter to end the game with a Country 13 – 7 win.

Comments: Spilborghs was named the game MVP for his three-run homerun that brought it most of his four RBIs on the day, but Hudson may have been the most dynamic person in the lineup. Hudson went 4/5 with two doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. While Grindell struggled, exiting after only two innings, O'Connor pitched very well in his 4 – 1/3, giving the Country an opportunity to catch up and surpass the White Sox. When asked about Grindell's recent struggles, someone in the Country's front office who asked to remain anonymous because he is not authorized to speak on behalf of the team said "Grindell was expected to be the team's number two or three starter; the problem is that he has not been in good condition when it has been his turn to pitch; the coaches hope that by forcing him out to the mound when he is in blue condition, as was the case the last two times, it will recondition his body to be ready every fifth day on his turn, as opposed to every fifth day on someone else's turn." Relievers Green and Chamberlain were perfect, and Chamberlain's dominating performance, striking out four in 1 – 1/3 innings was a welcomed sight after his shaky prior appearance.

Awards: the week three MVP was announced and milledge was one of the recipients. For the week ending April 26, 2009, Milledge batted 593 with five RBIs. He continues to lead the league in stolen bases, and has not been caught stealing one time (at least, officially).

Word has it that while the Country are pleased that a Country player has been named as a weekly MVP each week, they are grumbling that Josh Fields was not one of those. The team is unofficially wondering how the league leader in HRs and slugging is not an MVP.

Give Fields what he deserves, MLB! *grumble grumble*

At least Milledge has been dominating though. He's really developing into a top contact/speed hitter for you.

When my dudes are purple and their fatigue bar is high, I rest them. If a guy like Cust changes to blue, or he stays purple, but his fatigue level goes down, I'll have him play through.

Do others of you do the same thing, or do you handle it differently?
