The Warriors were able to claw their way back from a 3-1 game to win 5-3. Ryan Howard did the most damage with a 3 run homer in the 6th. Gorzelanny was pitching great but his nightmare of a season continued when he hurt his elbow yet again, thats the 3rd time this season. Jim Oilhands will get called up if Gorzelanny does have to miss some time. Greene hit his 22nd home run of the year in the 2nd inning to make it 1-0. Hopefully Gorzelanny can get back out there as he looks to help this team make a push for the playoffs after the all star break.

*UPDATE*
Gorzelanny does not have to go on the DL but the manager has decided that it's time to bring Jim Oilhands back up to give him another shot. He will take Durvisuski's spot in the starting rotation. The GM of the warriors has said "If he has one more rought outing, we will have a decision to make."

The second half of the season got started on the right track with a 5-1 win over the San Jose Hornets. The bats finally came alive a little bit today and a starter was finally able to get a Win. Litsch is the first pitcher for the Warriors to get 10 wins this season. Ryan Howard hit his 66th home run, Greene hit his 23rd, and Xavier Nady hit a pinch hit home run in the 8th, his 14th on the year. The Warriors looked sharp and fresh after the all star break.

It was a long game at local ballpark today, as the warriors were able to pull off an amazing comeback and win on a Ryan Howard walk off home run in the bottom of the 13th to win this one 6-4. Usual closer Rocket went into the game in the top of the 13th and got a shut out inning, he also earned the win today, only his 2nd career win. Quincy Portis drove in a huge two runs in the bottom of the 8th to tie the game up 4-4. Nady yet again shows why he is one of the best pinch hitters in the league when thats what is asked for him as he hit a blast off the right field wall to drive in one run.

Doctors have announced that Xavier Nady broke his collarbone while trying to rob a home run during a game against the Reapers on july 26th. He will be out for 32 days and becomes the 2nd player to break his collarbone for the Warriors. This does not help the Warriors already struggling offense as Nady was one of the only players actually hitting the ball. Nady is batting .261 in 68 games this season with 14 home runs and 29 RBI's. Denorfia will be called up from AAA to take his place

July 28th, 2009

Jim Oilhands came back in a huge way today pitching 6 great innings and getting player of the game. Ryan Howard hit two home runs and had 5 RBI's in a 7-3 win against the San Jose Hornets.

Rookie pitcher Sain has won rookie of the month of the Warriors, during the month of july he had 4 wins with a 1.76 ERA along with 10 strikeouts. Hopefully he can contiune to improve as time goes on

I'm going to start doing a player rankings system for my team to determine who is doing the best for every week instead of doing a update for every game. The scale will range from a 0.1-10.0, I will update the 5 best and worst players for every week of the season i play. Clutch hits, average, fielding, HR's, and RBI's will go into count for fielders, and Wins, Strikeouts, and ERA will determine a pitchers player ranking.

Player Rankings week 1
#1 Ryan Braun- 9.4, Since coming off the DL after breaking his collarbone he has been a big boost to the line up and has increased his average by .012
#2 Jim Oilhands- 9.0, He has been on fire hitting and pitching the ball. After having a terrible ERA of over 4.40 and being sent down he now has below a 4 ERA.
#3 Carlos Ruiz- 8.9, After hitting just .260 most of the season his average has jumped up to .279
#4 Patrick Star- 8.6, He has been doing work in the bullpen and having under a 1 ERA is the best on the staff, also tied for most wins with 12
#5 Greene- 8.2, Although he has struggled most of the season this past week he has been mr clutch and also raised his batting average by .007 and hit 4 home runs

Worst player ranks week 1
#1 Otto Rocket- 1.2, This week Rocket has blown two saves and just has struggled to get anyone out
#2 Frank Ocean- 1.6, He worked so hard to get his ERA under 4 but this week he gave up home run after home run and now has a 4.15
#3 Randy Gurch- 2.1, Although he didn't play much this week his average has dipped from what was a .265 to a .258
#4 Ryan Howard- 2.5, He is the most important player on the team but his average has went from a .308 to a .299 in no time
#5 Ryan Deafface- 4.3, he hasn't struggled much but his average has went down a few clicks in the past few games

September 23rd, 2009

The warriors came into todays game against the Pack looking to clinch the NL east for the 2nd straight season. Litsch who is tied for the most wins on the team with 13 got the start today looking to close the season out. Things started off great with a Ryan Braun home run in the second, the warriors took the early 1-0 lead. Litsch gave up a solo home run to J.Peralta in the 3rd inning though to tie the game 1-1. The game was pretty quiet until the 8th inning when Litsch felt something pop in his elbow and had to come out of the game. Durvisuski came in and gave up a quick home run to J.Peralta, his 2nd of the day to make it a 2-1 game. Then, in the bottom of the 9th, with the warriors back against the wall with one out, Ryan Howard hit a solo shot to tied the game 2-2. His 102nd home run on the season. Durvisuski was left in to pitch the top of the 10th. In the bottom of the 10th A.caberera led off and hit a soft grounder to the 3rd baseman, the 3rd baseman however made a high throw that soared over the 1st basemans head and allowed Caberera to advance all the way to 2nd base. The pitchers spot was up next and they left Durvisuski in to hit. Durvisuski saw the 1st pitch and he drove it to right field on a called hit and run, Caberera scored easily as Durvisuski hit his first career walk off hit and the Warriors clinched the NL east in dramatic fashion, beating the pack 3-2. The manager said he plans on resting his starters the rest of the regular season.
